I actually spoke to a fairly old woman once at dagganoths.
She was a cancer patient and pretty disabled, and couldn't really do anything else during the recovery period. RS was a great escape from reality, and just a whole new world for someone who currently had very little else.
Its weird to imagine, but completely understandable when you think about it.
