Hi WG,

As you may have heard (if you have looked in the Hello's and Goodbyes forum over the last couple of days) I have done an injury to my right hand a couple of days ago.

So what did I do?

-I severed at least one tendon in my hand, and possibly cut/bruised another.
-I cut several nerves

Which resulted in me having 6 hours of surgurey to have the tendons reattached as well as some repairs to the nerves.

The long ter problems:

-6-8 weeks in a splint
-3-6 months physio.

Which means I will definitely be playing less runescape over the next couple of months.

What I would like you to do:

Over the next few months if you wish to talk to me on irc please pm me as I will not be as fast typing as I normally am.

Please do not talk to me in game.

I will do my best to keep up to date with my council work, however do not expect me to reply to every topic as I have only one hand to type with which means its much slower. If you do have a particular topic you wish me to read and reply to please pm me on forums or in irc to be certain that I will give it the attention it needs.

I will do my best to attend events, however expect my attendance to drop since I cant really play RS very well with one hand.

that sucks i just came out of my injury broke 2 fingers (was 4 weeks)and they had to rebreak them again-.- atm one splint on so its not that bad

dw typing w/ one hand isnt so hard(i did it like....end of october-december and got quiet good at it)
Just practise

Only thing thats hard is uppercase letters(i just caps press letter, caps off when it happened to me)

ouch evil that must hurt alot cutting ur tendons aswell as ur nervs and they dont heal gd so u could have some damage for life there sorry to hear

--A Short Update--

I had a clinic appointment with my physio yesterday to have my original cast off and a more durable splint fitted, at this appointment I was told a little bit more about what happened and what I need to do/am at risk of.

The main damadge I have done was to fully sever the 2 tendons in my right 'pinky' finger, which controll all movement from the first knuckle fowards. I also managed to severely bruise one nerve in that finger and sever the other, hence I currently have very little feeling in it which is probably a good thing.

I have also got more tendon damadge to my ring finger, as well as some fairly minor (relatively) lacerations to my other fingers.

What has this resulted in?

I have now got a full finger splint on my right hand, which means I cannot use it at all for at least 6 weeks, and will have reduced use of the hand for at least 12 weeks.

Next milestone is getting my stitches out on monday..... 50 of then in my hand atm, its going to be hell.

Ouch, sounds bad. Hope the recovery goes well, rest it as much as you can.

Been really sick for nearly more than a week now but seriously this is far out. It must be really painful, terribly sorry to have this happen. I hope you have good and eventual full recovery from the injury. Very sorry to hear this... sure its terribly painful. Be careful than ever from now with those tools tbh.
