The system doesn't work anyway, and I'm ok with giving my cell number to "random" people to be honest; there might be some people who deem it insecure.

well...i dont really have a problem giving my cell number out to people, but i'd get rid of it based on the fact that none of our applicants use it

I'd rather not get called by random people that I know solely from online experience.

(Although I don't mind getting called by some close friends),

But giving your cell phone number does feel creepy if you're just joining the clan. I guess thats why most people don't choose that option. The options just there if you want to choose it, even though most people don't.

Well I think that if no one uses it, then why bother having it?
Think of it this way:
When you first joined WG (literally on your first few days), before you knew anyone, would you have wanted to give out your phone number to perfect strangers?
It depends on the sort of person you are.
I wouldn't have wanted to, but now I know all of you guys and trust you I have given my number out to people and even my address (GROEDIUS)

Sounds good, it's a bit personal tbh.

It basically is for those who dont mind getting texted in an emergency over the sms.
It is a secure, non intrusive way to get ahold of people.

Lordy loves this way to get hold of people.

I don't see a problem with leaving it as an option.

It is unreasonable to ask people to give their cell phone number on just joining a clan full of strangers. They'd feel pressured into giving contact information, and that taints the community feel.

Its a good thing its optional, and its a fine method if they're alright with doing it. Of course, its a very useful way of contact but should always be optional.

Maybe it should be it's own Stickied Topic in Community Announcemnts or General Matters, so they can know about the option after they become a Member.

We could encourage new applicants into doing this.. There are several reasons why this is a great feature. The application manager could perhaps tell them to do it. But in the long run it's your decision whether you want to share or not. But myself.. I don't mind giving it.

Yes it is good and useful option, but i think using IRC or beeing active on forum can replace it.

I think its still quite important for some members to have cell phone contacts, probably not applicants though

ive used the option 2 i gave hl my number but that was for big wars actualy he used it 1 time duno what war it was but i was there

either way works for me, i dont mind giving out my number, i feel that some females may not want to tho. I know my ex gf doesnt like to give hers out, i have it though And no you cant have her number
