Windows Update Problem

So I'ven been having this problem. I get notice theres a Windows update that I need to install. I install the update and restart my computer. When I restart my computer I can't access the internet at all. I try loading SK as usual and the patch notes isn't showing and it's saying "cannot be found" I try connecting to AOL, it can't conect. I had to restore my computer(the third time this morning) to be able to access the internet again.


So any suggestions as to what might be causing it?

I've just had the same problem but i was able to connect to Runescape but i lagged out everytime. I have reset my router.

lucky i installed the service pack 3, and i couldn't even boot my computer. Here's my tip.
Go to Control Panel > System > Automatic updates then click Turn off automatic updating. I want to update my computer manually.
It may save you some problems later on, i say only let paid technicians install all service pack updates.

Sorry I didn't post, I fixed it. I changed it to let me deicdee when to install updates. I went to custom install and made sure the Secuirty Patch wasn't ticked. Updates installed and problem solved.
