Next Season of the CWPL

By DZ on 13/07/2008
I want to see what you, the members of the clan feel about us re-joining the CWPL next season. The next season is said to being in "a couple of weeks most likely" and there will be changes, no idea what exactly they are yet.

QUOTE
This topic is for Season 2 signups.

All clans currently in the CWPL will automatically retain their position as a competitor in the league. If you wish to drop out of the CWPL, PM me and I will see it done.

Clans who dropped out completely from Season 1 are not eligible to apply for Season 2, but will have to wait until Season 3.

Before you all sign up let me just tell you that some changes will be made to the CWPL, including:

  1. Shorter seasons, possibly as short as 4 weeks
  2. More evenly distributed divisions
  3. Possible greater compatability with RAW
  4. Adjustments of certain rules

These changes are to ensure that less clans drop out during the season. Shorter seasons and more even divisions means that clans slumping won't wuss out, but will only have to wait a couple of weeks until they are put into a lower division and can fight more evenly.

So just let us know what you want us to do, rejoin or leave it. Try to give a reason why you make a selection, I hate just seeing a "Yes" or a "No" answer.

By Kyle on 13/07/2008
Honestly, I say no. We need to work on everything. Binds, Tanking, attendances.. also it would give some of our members more time to train and max out.

Maybe.

First off, we had like 3 fights where the rules were twisted away from our favour. We could do nothing but agree with the rules. Secondly, our activity was great at the begining of the CWPL, but it continously dropped as the season went on. Maybe it was too much for some people.

I wouldnt make a decision until we see the degree of changes. I wouldnt really decide until I see what adjustments of rules are made, and how short the season is (less is better imo, >4 fights though)

I like the wars every week, but it gets too hectic. I mean, the first 2 weeks we were all out pulling great numbers. But then people started caring less and less and eventually it became no big deal. Plus we actually had to slow down on wars for it to focus on the CWPL which actually got us kinda rusty.

I'm gonna have to say no

By Robertw56 on 13/07/2008
It would be good to see us continue in the league, but I think we have other things to work on, like tanking/hybriding and activity ofcourse.

Maybe we can join Season 3 when we are ready.

By Pazenon on 13/07/2008
Definitely yes. It gives our activity some sort of a boost (like it did in the first weeks of Season 1), added to the fact that CWPL wars are far more exciting and thrilling than any other sort of war.

Even though we totally sucked last season, I enjoyed the wars we fought alongside each other.

By Zlatan83 on 13/07/2008
I think we have a good chance of winning the league next season.

However I pretty much agree with the replies above.

By Trivium236 on 13/07/2008
After the past few wars i say no, we need to work on training more than anything.

if we join, we risk having lower and lower turnouts and that would be a bad impact on the Clan's reputation having a member list like we do but pulling 40 people to a full out war where 4-5 weeks before we pulled 60-70.

^ us now ^

imo, we need ALOT more training events, a huge activity sweep and just BETTER TURNOUTS.

By Karlfischer on 13/07/2008
A big yes from me, I really enjoyed having the wars every week. So far CWPL is the most accurate ranking system, and for that reason I think opting out on CWPL would be a huge mistake if we want to gain any kind of attention in the RS clan world.

That said, I think there are some stability issues we need to work on. Our focus over the past two months has been far too focused on warring, and meanwhile we have neglected other aspects of the clan, which unfortunately has cost us some very good members. The problem is that we treat CWPL wars like the kind of full our wars that we typically had only about one every month before CWPL. Before CWPL we would have enough of a break where people would be excited again once we had another full out and could easily deal with the lack of events and increased push to train that tends to come before major wars. Now we simply have no recovery time, and I think people just have gotten a bit tired. The effect of this is that we had good turn out rates in the beginning of the season, but as people became increasingly less excited about the wars our attendance dropped, which gives the impression that we are going into a slump.

We need to treat CWPL more casually, and not let it distract from other events or functioning of the clan. The times of CWPL need to be switched up a bit aswell (maybe even have some friday and sunday) so that the same people do not always end up unable to attend, and it is less burdensome for those who feel pressure of being tied up at about the same time every Saturday.

Basically what I am saying is that we need to worry less about our CWPL rank and our seemingly bad attendance, and just try to have fun with it.

By Colinwarrior on 13/07/2008
I wouldn't mind either way. I like that they are changing around the rules and such.

It's just a matter of if we will keep pulling 39 people to these wars...

I will still attend if we do decide to continue.

By Nick on 13/07/2008
I personally say no. We need to ignore the CWPL for now and fix/work on all of the problems that we have been having lately. Get a better community, train all of our warring skills, and do an activity sweep to see exactly how many members deserve to be on the memberlist. Things need to clear up, before you can add more things that shade over the problems, or just make them worse.

If this season is only going to be 4 weeks, then why not just sit it out, while we come back for season 3 blowing them all away?

By immolatus2 on 13/07/2008
my opinion is no... my answer is no... we need alot of traning... and i even need pratice... we should hold events where we just go to clan wars and just pratice on regular people... we can get better their and grow moral because we will own loads of people their... we are losing members and turn outs are getting worse... moral needs to be brought back to wg... so i say host events where we can go to clan wars and just fight random groups... pratice makes perfect, and just when the other clans thought they saw the last of wg we come back with such a vengence that we will be forever known in the rs world... immolatus2

p.s.i can prolly get a few of my combat lvls to 99 by then and thats a plus... smile.gif

By Aardvark39 on 13/07/2008
I would like to see us stay in the league, but yes many things need change in this clan, mainly the strenghth of the community. Which will bring about many things needed for WG.

When is the next season to begin? Guess i could check RSC but if its not too soon then we have time to sort many things that need to be sorted. The league does keep us in the public eye as well, this can be a great clan if we all work together as a team and every individual is respected as a fellow member.

By Renoldojr10 on 13/07/2008
I think we need to wait a little while longer to see how WG is and at what stage we are. Honestly its not about not doing it or the pros and cons but about the attitude and inspiration behind the idea, needing the whole clans support.

tbh we can only work on whut we need to by being in fights and trying to git active players having a fight a week is there to try to help bolth the problems

i personaly like having atleast a fight a week becides if we do bad we do bad any exp in fights is good for those that dont have much

By Mickey on 13/07/2008
Constant wars was bad enough the first time. I'm glasd CWPL is over now. I hated having to attend war after war. Wars loose their fun after like 2 in a week. No.

By Kiwi011 on 13/07/2008
I would say yes, but I feel a break would do us a bit of good. Why not wait till season 3 and see how it goes?

By Split 69 on 13/07/2008
Yes, I would like to continue on with the season. I know we have some internal issues but a war once a week is good for practice since we are a community/warring clan. One-ish war event per week wouldn't hurt us but I don't think it should be our main focus. Obviously it should be the community problem we're experiencing but CWPL could be there to bring us together with a fun fight that will help out the entire clan with some good practice. Overall just enter to have a good and fun experience, not to take it to our primary focus.

By Troll84 on 13/07/2008
I believe that for this season we should drop out. I believe we need some times to train ourselves in the art of warfare, focusing in particular on tanking and hybriding. We also need to take some time off to reconsider tactics and how to run the wars.

I would support us rejoining the CWPL for the third/fourth round IF at least 3 of the 4 following things come to pass

- CWPL Rules regarding set rules for wars being made so that No infinity run, melee + binds only etc is made the 'STANDARD' unless both clans agree on changing them.

- CWPL Wars are more evenly distributed. By that I mean instead of weekly they should be once every two or possibly three weeks.

- Our tanking and hybriding VASTLY improves to a state where we'd have a good chance of winning most of our wars.

- We could easily take on the challenge of the CWPL without putting our clan's community in jeapordy.

as long as inf run is taken away im happy, if mage+range are the standard still so all styles is done more I am all for it. Melle+ binds just sucks and is boring as hell.

Seriously, we should use all styles as an advantage and use it just cuz we can. It was the norm and is way funner than normal binds+melle.

Normally, it would be a definite yes. But seeing our activity rate and how people view the CWPL, it's a huge doubt because we're gunna get mixed reactions whatever the result.

By Tmal34 on 14/07/2008
hell i'm a CWPL leader and I want to see us out of it.
A war every 2-3 weeks and more miniwars...
That is what WG was built on, and that is how it should continue.

By Dav 13 on 14/07/2008
We should be in it .. simple as that tongue.gif

By Geoff_Bland on 14/07/2008
I think we should participate in the next cwpl season because as they said, they are shortening the season which will benefit alot of people because it was obvious that some got restless of warring every week. It will also give me and many other people good experience and a way to try out their new tanking skills from war practices mid week.

I don't really mind if we win or lose. I find F2P wars with WG the most fun thing in rs to do happy.gif

By Jayson on 14/07/2008
i dont think we should continue

we just need a break, to fix everything that is going on here

pressuring people with wars, and training has been hectic for the apst month and a half, i think we deserve a well earned break

By Groedius on 14/07/2008
Ok well im half and half I enjoy wars and fighting and such however when we are pulling 40/140 members then theres kinda a problem with activity and hybriding so i believe we need to try and address these issues. It will be harder to do so when trying to war in the CWPL so maybe we should pull out for a season to address these issues unless they can fix some of the flaws in the league and we are able to get our activity back however the main reason for this lack of activity is the community because we lose a war every1 gets angry etc but the other effect was that because we slaughtered some of the clans some members may have believe oh god were doing so well wg doesnt need me for this 1 fight and then every1 starts to take this attitude then no1 turns up and it gets worst.

By DZ on 14/07/2008
Keep in mind that if we drop out we will still have wars... just maybe not every single Saturday. And if they do make the seasons shorter but we still do decide to drop out, we can always rejoin Season 3.

I want to hear a few people's opinion on the matter before taking any action.

I agree with you after reading what you've said. I think it would be better for WG in the long run to take next season off, practice our bollocks off and have a relaxed time and come back to Season 3 by storm. rolleyes.gif

By Sherjac on 14/07/2008
Yes
practice makes perfect

=

short but sweet

By Flame5107 on 14/07/2008
i think we should drop out because we have been constantly warring and training for about a month and a half and having two wars every week on the same day is getting tiresome it really got me thinking about if i should stay in wg or not because it was really getting me down but and it is destroying our community and bringing in the pro silentium has replaced SOTW which i really enjoyed doing and there is basicially no more skill related events anymore because we have become so focused on wars.

so ye we most definitely need a break from CWPL

You almost seem a bit aggressive in that post immo :S tongue.gif Dz is asking for as many opinions as possible before the deadline for signups/drop outs comes around (i think it's in the next week or so). Yes many have said to drop out but we may as well make sure we get as many opinions as possible before the deadline tongue.gif

i like having the wars, but i think it can be a bit stressfull pulling our best every weekend. we need to work on our community at the momeent, because apparently theres something wrong with it.

By Sonixpber on 15/07/2008
No. WG is not the same clan it once used to be, because all we do is war. I think we must first restore order to the community before we focus on CWPL again. I noticed that the constant warring has turned us away from the community that we all used to know and love. Instead, we only worry about wars, and it should not be that way.

By T Dwag on 17/07/2008
Yep we need to get our name out there. Maybe get some good members+activity. Nothing better to do.
We need the practice.

doesnt matter for me personally.

By DZ on 17/07/2008
Council was unanimous on the issue, and seeing how a good chunk of members wanted us out, we have withdrawn.

We will probably end up rejoining the next season.

If you strongly disagree with this PM me on the forums, don't start a public rant.
