Multiclanning
By Karlfischer on 14/07/2008
This is not really a goodbye topic (unless council decides to be obtuse and kick me for multiclanning) but I am going to join another clan for academic reasons.
I am taking a literature Spanish class next semester (reading 100 years of solitude in Spanish) and I have realized that my Spanish is quickly deteriorating, and I need to get some practice. I have thought a bit about what I can do, and have come to the conclusion that probably the easiest, most effective, and enjoyable ways to improve my Spanish would be to join a Spanish speaking runescape clan.
Basically I am going to try to find a clan that is fairly small so that there will be no possible conflict with WG.
Again, not a goodbye topic, but I was not sure where else to put this. Just don't be surprised if I show up on two clanlists on Runehead.
EDIT: Btw, if anyone knows of any good spanish clans, please let me know.

Not sure what the leadership will say but i see no problem with it

Try a country clan, perhaps from South America, Mexico, or Spain.
As long as you speak their language, I doubt they would mind an American joining.

i think this is a great thing your doing... i support you in your choice and im glad your staying with wg

Ty everyone

I already found a clan to join, and they are not on runehead so there should not be any issues with multiclanning.

nothing helps you learn a language like actually using it with a friend...
I hope the higher-ups dont have a problem with this

I have no problem at all with this, assuming that events etc. dont clash too much.

Interesting case. Usually multiclanning is only allowed when its a country clan or (at one point) a skills clan.
However, I see no harm in you joining a spanish clan if its done for the reason of learning the language (not specificaly looking at other benefits of the clan). It will be a great way to learn the language, as you can see by how good foreigner's english is over the internet. Maybe we should see some new rules to accomodate this, but I doubt it will happen.
Good luck with the espanol amego

Ahh really good way to pick up the language would be through a runescape clan that uses that language alot .. id support you on this tbh

Lol, you guys should know by now that I would never leave, especially over a little slump ;p
Good to hear that everyone seems fine with me doing this. I have already applied with a small clan called "Guerreros de la Noche" with requirements of 70+, lol. Actually, I found out they do have a runehead list, however they only have like 30 members and 80 combat average, so I doubt it would be of concern to anyone who saw my name on two clans on runehead.
I know what you are saying Tnuac, but I do not think we really need a new rule to accomidate what I am doing. I know we have allowed people to be in skilling clans, and since what I am doing has in effect the same lack of interference with my participation in WG as would joining a skilling clan, it should be encompassed under that rule.
And obviously if there is a conflict of events, WG takes precedence.
EDIT:
Lmao, I just read the rules of the clan I am joining, and apparently they do not allow multi-clanning. Considering their memberlist though, I doubt they will decline me.

Play english and stupid
By Winddancir on 16/07/2008
I don't see a problem with it. You are still putting WG as a priority over the other clan. You are there more for school rather than for fun, but if you have fun too, that's better.
