If attendance was in level 3...

Would you actually update it?
I don't really want to know who does or who doesn't.
All I know is it is horribly horribly inaccurate and it is really plaguing my mind right now as I consider inactivity.

If tertiaries aren't actively taking and updating attendance. We can't expect members to actively check how they are doing.


So if we moved it to level 3...would you do it?

Any other suggestions?
As it stands now it sucks.

I'd suggest setting someone as being in charge of attendance on a more permenant basis. That way, there'd be a dedicated person hounding at the event hosters for the attendance, helping make sure that the attendance is updated with all events.

Sure that would be good.
But I really don't think you all are too overworked to do it at this point.

The event hosters would still be the ones adding the actual attendance, the 'Attendance Monitor' or w/e would be chasing up the event hosters for the attendance etc

You all are tertiary LEADERS.
Shouldn't need a babysitter to make you do attendance.

I'm not pointing fingers at anyone in particular since I don't know who does it and who doesn't. Just saying.

Leave it where it is, I just think that when we write recaps it should be something that naturally follows.

Of course what everyone forgets is that any staff member can do attendance, not just tertiaries....
For instance...
A council member browses the recap forum, sees that last nights event attendance from a cwpl war etc, has not been added, he doesn't care and goes off to browse some other forums....

Anyone can do it, not just tertiaries, don't say its our job. Its a staff member job, council are staff, yes they are busy, I am fine with that, the council do a brilliant job leading WG, but that doesn^t mean that they cant lend a hand to those in need... we're all pushed as it is with Pro Silentium, CWPLs, weeklys....

Also ask Rob/DZ, every CWPL war I check they have the attendance taken, then its not even posted on the recap ...

If a council hosts an event, which we should, then yeah it's our job to do it.
For example if we have a CWPL war and Rob is the one whose CC we use and who leads fall ins, then he should update the list.

If I call a house party and 10 people come, then I should add those.

However if tertiaries host an event, you all shouldn't just post a thread and hope someone else gets to it. Your event...Your attendance.

I think too often someone hosts an event, posts the attendance and says they will get to it later, only to forget and then partially blame others for not doing it either.


Look I'm really not point fingers here. If the issue is that council needs to host more events then say so and I'll see what I can do.
What I see is tertiaries hosting events, and the attendance not getting updated.
I see it as a responsibility of the host to see to it that the attendance is done, and right now that is not happening. Perhaps there was a miscommunication somewhere that said if you host an event you don't have to do attendance...I don't know. I just want attendance done, and I don't want to feel like the only way to do it is for myself to spend 3 hours a night in the subforum trying to figure out who hasn't updated their event.

Honestly, it gets done slowly as it does. I pitch in from time to time. I saw we leave it where it is, and let it be. It works out enough. On the Main attendance, we're only back 1 week or so i believe. And whoever hosts the event add the attendance to the weekly just fine.

Ah I think I see the problem here...
The weekly attendance is pretty much up to date, minus an event or to (WHICH DOES GET DONE IN THE END...)

However. The main total attendance topic is always out of date and thats because it takes ages to update.

I take it on myself now in the week I return from holiday to ensure that all of these lists are up to date ok?

Now lets drop this issue.
