Ex-Staff Forum?

I had an idea and thought I'd post.
Why don't we make a specific forum for either ex-council or ex-tertiaries, along with current ones of course to post.

I feel like the people who have been around WG enough to be tertiary, regardless of their current rank, deserve a special say in what goes around here.

It shouldn't matter what clan they are in now, what their status is.
If we give all ex-staff a forum, perhaps they will suggest ways to help.


What makes me think this could be good would be people like for example Twiz, who posts around but doesn't have a place to be recognized and rewarded for his past contributions.

Even someone like Stokenut, Eugene, Rick Hamm, etc...
They all still care enough to hang aroung... no harm in giving them a forum to voice concerns or suggestions, because they have them.

Yes I would love to see a forum for Ex-Staff, however this could be a logistical nightmare.

Just looking around here are the ranks that Ex-staff hold:

-Banned
-Ex-member
-Elite Guardian
-Higher Guardian
-Guardian
-Emeritus

Meaning that editing all their permission masks could be a nightmare. The easiest way I can see would be making an "Ex-Staff" permission mask and having a slightly different mask for each group, we would need to have:

-Elite
-Higher/Emeritus
-Guardian
-Ex-member

Permission masks, and then use the "over write forum permission mask" option on A-CP. This would take me a matter of 5 minutes to do, however I am not 100% sure whether we/robbie wants a whole lot of new masks on our allready long list.

The other problem I can see is the amount of information or more accurately, where it is retrived from, which may br discussed in that forum. Because it is such a diverse group we are naturally going to find that Ex-member's will get access to information they dont normally have access to.

I guess we just have to trust their judgement and hope that nothing too important is leaked.

It would be more of a suggestion forum than it would be a secret forum. I just value the input of ex staff more than I do normal people...that sounds wrong but we all do.

As for logistics.

I think we could make it passworded and just pm the pass to people. Would that suffice?

I made masks in like 30 seconds and the forum.

So it isn't that big of a deal, and if we wait 2 days before doing anything we will die.
