First let me say:
If this gets leaked to anyone, and I mean anyone, then the concept of two weeks is done. I’ll walk away instantly and think nothing of it. This is level 4 and it stays level 4, your best friend doesn’t need to know about it unless they are council.
Now:
I will say that I made a big mistake.
I came back to RS for WG. I thought WG needed me and it turns out that it didn’t. I thought council would be the same as it always was, and it turns out it wasn’t. WG has changed and I haven’t.
If/When this two weeks is up, I’m leaving WG. I will rid the clan of myself and move on with my life. No more contact, no more coming in to save or ruin the day.
My reasons for leaving or perhaps conditions for staying: The things I think need changed.
1. Council –
The role of the council is that of primary leaders. Each council needs to put in the effort and have the dedication that would be expected of one who has the whole weight of the clan on their back. As it stands now we all chill in our niches and hope everything gets done. Well it’s time to grow up from that and take more onto the plate. No one here is a warlord, no one is a skills council, we are all just council and its time to act like it.
2. Primary Leader
The role of the primary leader is that of an advisor and a mentor, not a last say or a vetoer. Consider the united states government. The president does not have a say in the laws the are created, he can indeed veto them, but he can’t make them himself. He stands as an advisor and a figurehead. Well the current WG doesn’t work like that. The primary leader makes the plans and council is allowed to make minor changes. It should be vice versa with the primary serving either as an equal to council or someone to just watch over their work and make sure they don’t do anything TOO stupid. That is my opinion.
3. Tertiaries
a. Skill Leaders – As a unit the skill leaders are total shit. They sit around hosting the damn boring events and then whining when people don’t attend. Their job is to do what WG wants. If WG wants to do skills, then they should make skill events. If WG wants to do castle wars, then they should do castle wars. They shouldn’t sit on their ass and host events that they like or that are easy. As a unit they are horribly lazy in my opinion and enjoy being halfop in #WG far more than they enjoy leading events.
b. Raid Leaders – In general do a good job, few complaints from me here.
c. App Managers – They do apps fine, but this issue is in the “extras” that they do. They basically all either slack on their activity or abuse their power on a consistent basis. Zlat locks topics unnecessarily, Cam and Buzz use ACP when they shouldn’t, and Bamb disappears for months at a time. All of this goes pretty well unnoticed to and we all just smile because they are our friends.
4. Rank Structure:
Currently: 30 Trial
29 Guardian
16 Higher
19 Elite
13 Tertiary+
That is horribly out of balance.
We should have far far more members than we do ranks above them, but instead promotions are given out very easily and everyone approaches higher ranks. As it stands now basically ALL of our active members are higher+ which means that they all feel entitled to more.
This is hurting the clan far more than you guys seem to know. You simply can’t have the same amount of managers as you do employees.
When people feel as though they are entitled to more and they are better than average, it is very very dangerous, and we have a lot of that right now. All kinds of people thinking they deserve more when they don’t.
The funny thing is that these people have gotten more anyways. They get promoed because they are good at making friends, wow nice, they could pass grade 1. There needs to be a SERIOUS reform of the promotion system, and that does not mean simply taking a month off then going back to the old way of promoing everyone in the clan monthly.
Keep in mind also that if you look at that list, in 2 weeks about half the trials will be gone, and probably 1/3 to ½ of the members due to inactivity checks.
5. Inactivity:
The one thing I have never been able to fix in WG. WG members don’t really play RS, and when they do they do their own thing. There is no sense of friendship in game. The few that do actively play, stick to themselves. New members are equally inactive and as a result I don’t see the problem getting better. More people are just going to fade away until everyone is demoralized, I can see it coming.
6. The “Old” way.
All of those old members trolling guest talk and saying how much WG has changed: They are right. WG has a lot to learn from those in the past and it doesn’t really want to.
7. Community –
People aren’t befriending new people anymore. They are sticking to cliques and doing nothing to remedy the problem. They then sit back and bitch like pros. Well that isn’t going to cut it. If WG is to be fixed, the members need to step up. No one gives a shit anymore.
Overall that is my list.
I have lost my love for WG similar to what Sean said.
The fact is that WG is falling slowly and this will soon speed up. We have very few if any members with potential to be the next ones to step up and help WG, and we have a level of discontent that spreads to everyone.
WG is in really tough shape, and I don’t have what it takes to drag it out of the dredges. I don’t think it will happen, and I think the chances are better without me anyways.
So take care all, I respect each of you in your own ways and wish you the best in life.
I will bow out silently after two weeks if the above things aren’t changed or in the rapid process of changing.
I won’t post a goodbye, I won’t tell members or drag people with me, I will simply change my rank to ex-member and be gone for good.
Until then I will work as though I still intend to help, because I do owe 2 weeks of work.
Once again if this is leaked all of that changes.
It will be gigantic messes if it is, so don’t go there, it isn’t worth it.
That means not even Buzz gets to know.

After reading the whole thing I agree with many of them, just not mentioned in my own. Number seven is very true.
I'm not really sure what to say seeing how I've posted my own too. I won't be writing any words to convince you to stay because I can't honestly blame you for this post. I just feel bad for you because you were so newly elected. I know you never had these intentions when you ran for council, wonder how the clan will react. Don't think you will be liked here much anymore :$.

Jus tto make my point a little more relevant.
We now know that a tertiary most likely power abused stoke in the lobby and hid themselves well.
And here is a level 3 quote from Zlat.
QUOTE |
So your saying we have to wait for you to say "approved" so we can do all our work? and Tmal, we dont need ACP? you seriously think we are going to do all boring work such as add people to memberlist and PM them that they have been accepted? I'm not going to wait for council to approve applications , if I see an app then I will do it without your approval. I think i've been in this clan long enough to decide whatever the application is good or not. If you don't like the way im doing it then demote me. |
So because of our over promotions, like I said people are feeling entitled.
Zlat has said that the only thing that makes his job worth doing is getting ACP, which tells me he is abusing it.
PLUS he blatantly went against a new policy of the councils and said "If you don't like it demote me".
Well look at the situation that puts us in. We now either have to be his bitch and let him go, talk to him when he is angry, or demote him and watch a good member leave.
All could be prevented with competent tertiary leaders doing their jobs and only their jobs.
