Seriously, It's not funny...

Alright, here's my quick rant.
Sometimes, I am on IRC, and i change my nick to Glenn|AFK (usually) when I go to skate, etc. Well, often when I come back 20 or so minutes later I have disconnected because my internet is weird like that. Also, sometimes when i try to reconnect I get this spiffy message. * Cannot join #wg_lobby, you are banned from the channel
This is the fourth time this has happened to me recently. It is not funny. I am getting very annoyed that someone thinks it funny to do this as a prank. I am not asking who did it, I simply want you to stop pissing me off by doing this. It is a cheapshot at me. It is obviously a tertiary + that has halfop, which has the power to ban.
EDIT: When I reconnect, I change my name to Arsenalfan32. I am banned. I am 100% sure I wasn't trying to rejoin as Glenn|AFK.

Glenn, when you try to join #wg_lobby with an unregistered nick ((Sun 10:56:20) -NickServ- Nick Glenn|AFK isn't registered.) it will likely give you the message that you can not join and are banned. The truth is infact that #WG_Lobby has +R set so that only Registered nicknames can join it. Therefore, when you DC then try to RC to the network as Glenn|AFK, you can't join #wg_lobby.

As mugger says, its likely to be the fact that you need a registered nick. Or do you have to get someone to physically unban you each time?

If it is someone messing around, they've clearly done the joke far too many times, it just gets annoying after a while, and stupid.

Rejoining after DC doesn't work because you need to be invited first
But if you use mIRC, you could use this auto preform:
/ns ghost <Nickname> Password
/nick <Nickname>
/ns id <Password>
/timer1 1 3 /join #WG_Lobby
/timer2 1 5 /join #WG

That way, it'll ghost your old nickname (Dw 95% of the time it wont ghost you), change to that nickname, identify, get in #WG_Lobby after 3 seconds for the #WG invite, then join #WG 2 seconds later.

This only happens if you aren't banned, btw.

Mugger, I believe you're mistaken. If you disconnect with an unregistered name and try to re-enter with that name, it will tell you that you can't with the "only registered names may enter the channel" message. It won't tell you that you've been banned. Trust me on this. It's happened to me before, unless they changed it.

Why not do an experiment? Change your nick to an unregistered one and allow IRC to disconnect you and see what happens when you hit the RC button. Certainly can't hurt. If you don't want to do this, let me know and I'll do it after I get off work.

Personally, I think someone's messing about but until this experiment is run, there's no certain way of knowing.

Ohhhh, you might be right about that. I use the old version of SwiftSwitch. I don't know what mIRC or the new version SwiftKit does. My bad. I keep forgetting that I'm old and tend to use older versions because that's what I'm used to.

Why do you think I said in my post on "If you were leader for a day?" I said I would op Glenn. I see them messing with him all the time and he is so good natured about it.

Adam maybe he was trying to see if it wasn't just him by posting at this lvl. He might be giving the benefit of his doubts.
