I need some firefox help...

By Lady Myrna on 16/02/2008
So, i use firefox all the time.. and have never had a problem with it until now.. After the last update came out, i updated and now it comes up with "Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.google.com." as soon as i open it.. I originally thought i could fix it myself, but after fiddling with it for two days its still not working. Here is some info..

- This is not a problem with my firewall, turning it off does not fix the issue. Ive also checked the settings for the windows firewall.

- I have uninstalled firefox, and deleted every file pertaining to it, restarted, and installed both the newest version, and several older versions.. none work.

- Ive went through all of the settings that i am farmiliar with and everything seems fine.

- No spyware/anti-virus programs are showing any malicious software when scan is ran..

- HiJackThis isnt showing anything that i dont recognize.

Im kinda stuck here.. Im not sure if it was the update, or the fact that my roomate let her six year old kid play on this computer.. but something is wrong. Any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated. sleep.gif
