About Posting Topics

By For Sooth on 07/09/2008
When posting a topic or reply and if it has a picture, try and crop the size of it so that
1)it doesn't stretch the screen
2)it doesn't take forever to load.

If you could just do this for those of us with slower computers, it would be really really noice of you. Thanks.

Sooth

Some people use resizable window instead of fixed, which means the screenshots are in full detail, they then upload straight from Swift kit (For those who have it... Like myself). I like to show off my achievements/pictures

By For Sooth on 07/09/2008
how about shrinking your screen for the shot then?

By Ragingwealth on 07/09/2008
This used to be a problem for me as well before I fixed my net, so I kinda understand what ya mean X:

BTW: DONT take Fullscreen screenshots, they're like 1mb each (even the cropped version) and try to make the format of the screen JPG, you only need PNG for graphical stuff like signatures and avatars, in game screens should remain intact when you use the JPG format
Reason: JPG loses some quality (Which is not needed for stuff such as screenshots) so the size is a lot less than the PNG format (Which is only needed for graphical stuff like sigs/avvys)

If you've got a large screenshot, you can easily post a thumbnail image:

I used to, till i liked the look of High detail on stretched Screen.

Wayne: My Screenie's are not fullscreen like Darth's they are stretched to fit the browser.

By Kyle on 08/09/2008
Mine aren't fullscreen, it's at resizeable, but I run at 1280x1024.

By HavocAngel on 08/09/2008
Lol try mine, i run at 1680x1050. Thats one huge rectangle.

Most screenshot these days are Fullscreen or stretched as they show more detail, More and more people are begining to post Large screenshots to show detail. Last time i checked there was no rule on how big the screenshot has to be before you can post it.

They don't show as much detail and the arguement is that it lags the forums when you try and load them, isn't it the same if they were thumbnails? People wouldn't click them >.< So people tend to post stretched/full screen screenshots.

By Mistah Vince on 08/09/2008
There isn't a rule on it Simon, but it's true that for people with slower computers, they will take forever to load.

Sooth is just requesting that you didn't post them so large. It's not hard, is it? >_>

By Ragingwealth on 08/09/2008
If you'd like to screeny something and you're in full screen, just return to window mode (and turn off the resizeable), and save it at .jpg
The Result? Same quality pic but 1mb less.

By For Sooth on 08/09/2008
exactididdily do. You can also click on the thumbnails for a blown up version.

Not only are .jpg better for saving those great screen shots, but you save room on your computer too.

Stop over loading those who have crappy internets/computers.
^ Hi. I've got crappy internet.

So take .pngs.

All of my image files on my computer (unless they are sent to me otherwise) are saved as .pngs. hash.pnghash.png
