Petition against the update
By Lady Myrna on 19/02/2008
Okay, the new update pretty much kills clans as we know them. I cant sit around and watch this happen... so i made a petition against it that will be sent to Jagex. ***Please*** read it, sign it, and pass it along to anyone you can. My goal is to get 2k sigs on this thing before we send it over.

Thanks!!

I'll sign. Why can't Jagex just go with what they think people will want? Instead of being ignorant money grabbing re-jects.
EDIT: It costs money, which I don't have, sorry.

Madness, it doesnt cost money. Your sig is up there.. it just says "Your signature has been recorded." then asks for a donation

but you dont have to donate..

Oh well, I came to a screen with donation type things on it. Also, as we have seen with the wilderness changes, Jagex don't care about petitions, making sugestions got BH the way it is, make suggestions to get it back or w/e. GL with your petition though. I signed anyways.

Having multi-combat BH killed the point of the mini-game; I don't mind this update (although I still pity Jagex in general since BH shouldn't have to exist in the first place).

I said this on the other topic as well but Jagex have a suggestion thread on their official forums for clanners to give feedback and suggestions

#198 tbh

Im sorry, but theres no way you can successfully win.
There are hundreds of thousands of players online each day. 2k of them speaking out will achieve nothing. Plus, we know how (insert word here) jagex can be.
Secondly, for most players, this update may seem great. Things that sucked about BH are now better, even though eventually they'll learn that it'll end up being a PJ fest.
I sympathize with you guys, but its a losing fight... all we can do is learn to adapt (again)

Isn't that what it is already?

Jagex fails =\

First off, I signed the petition.
On the topic of the update, personally, I will not give Jagex a cent unless they remove both these kiddy-updates, preventing free-for-all matches(like the old wilderness was), and the unequal-trading ****. I don't mind real world traders as much as I mind not being able to give, or receive, as much GP as I want.
Jagex will probably not do this, and so, if we want good Runescaping, I think the future will be private servers.
Jagex, like most companies, isn't flexible enough to admit that they made a bad decision and reverse it before its too late. You see this with a lot of companies - If they had simply made the bad decision, realized that was what it was, and changed things again, then they would have done fine. Instead, by the time they realized they did something wrong, they can't or won't change.
After the big update, Jagex lost perhaps two thirds of their active players. They should have realized how bad that was and created a better solution.
Honestly, back when I joined, at the start of RS2, Runescape was fun. There was no kiddy-updates like the tutors, there was plenty of risk in the wilderness, and things were fun and exiting! Now, things are so protective its no fun anymore.
Sure, during the last several years, Runescape has become very popular, and made a huge bunch of money, but at the same time they gained a huge population of undesirables, and the quality of members went through the floor.
You know what? I didn't mind a hand full of bots running back and forth to and from the rune essence. I didn't mind a few people saying "visit (scam site here)" in Varrock square.
In my mind, the problem started when Jagex decided to make essence members-only. Suddenly bots had to have members, which means that they needed to scam credit card numbers. Also, it brought up the cost of GP, making it viable for human gold-farmers.
I mean, if it takes 10 hours to make a million gp, and that million GP sells for a dollar or two, its not worth enough to pay someone to gold-farm. When you make it hard for bots, then the cost goes up, and suddenly it is viable.
The second problem was having all those kiddy updates - wildy ditch, tutors, everything like that. It suddenly means that you don't need to have much of a brain, and instead get spoon-fed all the information. After those updates, things started really going downhill.
"protecting" people by limiting what they can do was perhaps the worst decision Jagex made. When BH first came out, it was marginally ok, as it was a free-for-all arena, like the wilderness. Now however, its 1vs1.
I stopped paying Jagex after the big update, and I am quite happy with my decision.

In all honestly jagex are not going to change it back or most likely wont so really this petition is pointless

It has been confusing us recently with allot of old topics seeming to be bumped by guests even though they arent able to bump their own topics, let alone Others.
We think this may be a glitch relating to the recent deletion of allot of accounts, though we cannot find any solution at this stage.
