Wilderness-related events
By Ragingwealth on 04/10/2008
Reminder: Please post!Because of our low turnouts to wars/raids, and after being in the TS meeting earlier, I decided to make this post.
What are your reasons for not coming to raids/warsDo you dislike PvP, do you have timezone problems, do you have problems with someone who goes (Dont name him/her on this post) etc...
Reminder: Please post!Benefits of going to Raids/wars:
- You help in making WG's reputation go up
- More members would join and we'd have a decent amount of applicants, as Wilderness attracts lots of people
- You are showing your commitment to your clan
- You gain more friends along with the time, as people will see you more often
- You get Fun
Reminder: Please post!
Fun comes overtime, I mean its demoralizing to see us lose most of our wars/run ins. but once people starting attending more, our skill will slowly go up and up and up, where you will see REAL fun. - You gain loot (Upcoming update)
- Lots more!
Reminder: Please post!Wars/Raids aren't mandatory, but come on, just because a thing is optional doesn't mean it gets totally neglected and forgotten. It's understandable that people with busy schedules/timezone problems can't attend, but when someone is online and doesn't bother to come at all, it- how can I say this properly...Offends people who are in the raid and especially Raid leaders and council, who organize these wars/raids and work real hard at leading these events. Wilderness is one of the most important aspects in any community clan.
Reminder: Please post!If you dislike PvP, come on, just try attending some to hang out with friends, you may start to like it over the times. Just attend ONE raid a week, Just
ONE. You have the whole week to do whatever you'd like to do (Skill, boss hunt, minigames etc..), Just dedicate this 1-2 hours to your clan, it shouldn't be hard.
Reminder: Please post!NO FLAMING HERE PLEASE By Mistah Vince on 04/10/2008
I'm not really much of a PvP person. I won't lie. But I USUALLY come to all of the Wars that I'm able to attend. Though, last night's Raid I didn't attend because I didn't feel like it.

I'll attend more of them in the future, though.
By Gusmighster on 04/10/2008
Once I'm 100 combat I'll be attending most american raids and some aussie raids. Basically all raids I can make.
By Kyle on 04/10/2008
I like the whole PvP thing. It's slightly demoralizing to me because everyone is 120+, and i'm like level 111. I feel like a noob. :c
By Dalejamesw on 04/10/2008
I seriously don't understand people who skip Wars/Raids.

We were all 111 at one point...
But yeah, PvP is fun, you just have to get used to it.

Skilling
By Kyle on 04/10/2008
I'm sure we have plenty of events you can attend. ToG, the upcoming Shilo Village fishing thing.. and others.

If I want to skill, ill make sure i'm not skilling when theres a raid or war. You can skill whenever you want but you can't have a raid or war whenever you want.
PKing is what keeps me going in runescape and it's what i've been doing for the last two years or so...
So bacicilly I want mandatory events and wars, but I know that's never going to happen.
By Troll84 on 04/10/2008
Seriously guys, It's unbelievably important to the WG community to get good turnouts at wars and raids. By working harder to make it to wilderness events, you help give WG a greater reputation, and in doing so, more members join, meaning more people for you to chat with, and get to know.
Small sacrifices (Tbh... it's a pleasure going to wilderness events... for the buzz you get... but call them sacrifices if you will) are not too much to ask of you IMO, If you want the clan to succeed, as well as having a great community, it must have a great warring aspect.

Try attending one or two raids/wars a week, just
ONCE or
TWICE, What you're going to lose? 100k xp? Just remember you have the
WHOLE WEEK to do ALL the skilling you want, just give WG some time as well.
Attending these helps us out, you'll get to know even more people if you go. You May or may not even like PvP as the times goes by, but you WILL SURELY help WG's reputation and recruitment if you attend.
Ask yourself, is one-two hours a week for WG too hard to meet? Or is it easy?
Think of it as this: you and your friends are going out to watch a movie, all of your friends want to watch Rightous kill while you want to watch Tropic thunder, you decide to leave them and go watch Tropic Thunder.
Your friends may talk behind your back (Human nature) and you will not improve your relationship with them at all, in fact if it gets repeated they might slowly start to dislike you (Of course, not just in movies

). Your friends will be talking about the movie they watched all the time and you won't have a chance to participate in their conversations because you didn't watch the movie.
Of course, you most likely wouldn't want all that to happen JUST because of a movie, same case here. You'll miss out on all the talks about how we won, how Dalejamesw tanked, etc..
So try to dedicate an hour or two of your time on RS per week to WG, you'll enjoy it eventually.

Reasons I don't/can't go to wars:
1. They are on weekends, when I work.
2. I don't find them Fun
3. We can just as easily recruit skillers as well
4. I didn't like pk'ing back when you could make profit, don't like it now especially that you can't.
By Woolachee on 05/10/2008
Reasons why my event attendance sucks:
I have about 5 hours of free time on Saturday and Sunday, and the rest of the time i have something to do..
Event prep + event would take up 2-3 of those hours.. so i rly dont have much time to make enough money to keep up my efforts and treasury, or enough time to skill and enjoy the game and relax.
and also there is no rewards for pvp yet, when it comes out ill prolly be alot more active, and also once soccer is over i will be active again, gimme a month or so.
so soz.

Well saying that as of lately my total time per week on RuneScape is around 2 to 3 hours a week, it is hard for me to "give an hour" to WG. But I do it anyways. I usually come on for wars and then log off afterwards. I work things that my family wants me to do for them around the 1 or 2 hours that I might need to get ready and to participate in a war.
Basically... if I could make all of them, I would. I just can't with my hectic schedule that is mentioned in my inactivity topic.
By Quikdrawjoe on 05/10/2008
I honestly hate raids. We used to get crashed to hell or drag lure (I was the lurer) and after doing that 20 times it's boring. Other times, it was AC which is really really boring since if someone did crash we didn't have enough to drive them off. Despite this, I was always excited for raids because I could earn badges and I was helping WG out. I honestly prefer warring any time but I still attended every raid I could (yes, that included the Aussie ones, I couldn't let Rob beat me in attendance

).
Not showing up is like a slap in the face. It's like you guys are less important to me than cutting trees or skilling or whatver it is. So don't ever fuckin bitch about raids, if you don't come you don't have any right to complain about it (that means you skillers and your whining about how you're ignored). There are vaild reasons not to come to raids but the whole attitude right now is bullshit, everyone else suffers because certain people can't bother to devote an hour to their clan when they have plenty of time to do other things in the whole rest of the week. /rant
P.S. I won't read this topic again so bitching here won't do you any good.
By Sithofwookie on 05/10/2008
Tbh Joe none of the skillers have been whining about being ignored.
By Pminogue on 05/10/2008
LOL
why r u people worried about low levels?
i understand how much the "green" stands out a lot more than yellow or red, but you just have to work around it in a raid or war.
I, for example, am usually always green in videos of our past wars. but i have my tricks to keep me from being piled, especially when i am hybriding.
first off, just hide in the main pile.
second of all, just follow someone whom you know is leader or tertiary leader of some sort, and hope to god they are not sniping LOL. (MoD war?)
third of all, pray melee for the first few moments of the rush in a war.
really combat level shouldnt be an excuse to not come to a war. if anything, them lvl 120's should fear YOU.
By Danltn on 05/10/2008
Honestly? I find we only ever do F2P events, which are, no offence meant - horrendously boring.
More P2P events please...
By Ragingwealth on 05/10/2008
Guys, just think of this: What do you do daily/few times a week that you find boring yet you still must do? For some it's work, for some it's school, etc..
My point here is that you should attend EVEN if you don't find them enjoyable, it's to BE with your clan mates in the clan community that YOU represent, if you refuse to attend any type of event where YOU are needed WITHOUT a valid reason (Tight schedule, work and such), then you are definitely not representing the community the correct way (Yes this includes wars, raids, skilling, boss hunting, and community events).
I once again tell you this: Most of us play daily or once every 2 days, Is it soooo hard to devote one or two hours a WEEK for your clan? Sure if you can't play a lot and only have 1-2 hours, then you can skip once or twice, but please, not all the time.
Even if you don't enjoy it, just come, I never enjoyed skilling that much, yet I participated in the latest Skilling war in non combat-skills (Such as slayer), try doing that too sometimes, it's just being there that matters, even if you don't enjoy it alot
By Eregion2 on 11/10/2008
I do try and come to wars and raids when I can, but other times I sit down at the computer for a minute, and then decide it's not worth the effort. This is mostly because RuneScape PvP sucks. It's not balanced, it's pointless, entirely unenjoyable, and is about as interesting as walking out to your driveway, picking up a rock, and staring at it for an hour.
We all play games for different reasons, and I have attended these kinds of events in the past and I certainly will again in the future, but really it's annoying to me. I play RuneScape to waste time - to have a few hours where I'm doing nothing important whatsoever. Events of any kind interrupt my reasons for playing this game at all, so between that and the fact that I work during 95% of all the events we ever have means my overall attendance is pretty bad.
If you guys want me to get excited about PvP, then we'll have to move to another game.
// edit //
PS: There is one kind of RuneScape PvP that interests me, and it might be possible again after the update. If we start staging single-combat zone fights, I'll come to every single one of them I can conceivably attend.
