Call of Duty 4 vs. Halo 3

By Twizlers300 on 15/10/2008
I stole this from RSC, but it quite possibly is the hardest question mankind has ever faced.

Halo 3 or CoD4? Which is better?

By Cameronm123 on 15/10/2008
CoD4 because i like the gameplay and how fast it can get sometimes.

Halo 3 is still a good game, but i very rarely play it nowadays

By Multikill529 on 15/10/2008
Both are excellent games, but which is better? Call of Duty.

I LOVE the class system and the customization options it provides, plus, it seems a little more "real" than Halo.

By Eregion2 on 15/10/2008
I've played Halo a little bit, and I watched a guy playing CoD for awhile today in one of the campus computer labs. It looks wicked. hash.png I didn't like Halo much.

I've only played Cod4 but I don't see how Halo can be better

I haven't yet found a way to get guest accounts in a party on XBL with COD, not even sure if it's possible. It also lacks Forge and the Theater features of Halo.

So there are some ways in which Halo trumps Call of Duty.

By Lee on 15/10/2008
CoD4 simple as. And matt, its not possible.

You missed out an option.

"I Play both CoD4 and Halo 3 and find them both to be a different style of FPS and thus comparing them is like comparing cheese and PC Speakers."

I enjoy both equally

I might play more Halo 3, but that is because I live with a flatmate and CoD4 does not allow splitscreen on Live.

It depends on preference, whether one wants to play a more tactical almost one hit kill game with current weapons, or a futuristic Sci-fi game with shields and futuristic weapons.

The actual gametypes in the games are different too, I don't see any oddball in CoD4, but I also don't see any Headquarters in Halo 3.

Yea I mean, its like comparing COD4 with Crysis.....Crisis is an amazing game, but a totally different type of fps than COD4

By EckZr on 15/10/2008
CoD4

Halo 3 feels like Halo 2.5

and CoD has a replayability factor to it considering how addicting leveling up in that game is

By Mickey on 15/10/2008
Cod4 gets really boring sometimes. There is allot of bullshit things that happen in it. I'd still prefer playing it to Halo, but Halo is a really good game.

I like comparing cheese and pc speakers, why not?

By Kero2 on 16/10/2008
Both are freaking awesome but CoD4

By Samurai-JM on 16/10/2008
Both are amazing games in all respects. Here's my opinion of both:

Halo is more for when you just wanna go have some fun blowing up aliens and using laser guns and all that, it's much more fast paced and not quite as tactical as CoD4. The ranking systems are all great and really show your true skill and place you where you need to be in order to have fair games.

CoD4 is more tactical and competitive, as well as realistic. It's amazing for when you really wanna go out and prove yourself in a fight. It has tons of different customizable settings for you to be truly unique in a fight, rather than racing to see who can get the good guns first, and many different gametypes that you can choose at will.

My final verdict: Halo = less realistic but easier and more fun, CoD4 = more tactical and lets you do what you're best at.

I've played both, and I find them both equally fun, and can easily play either at any time of the day. hash.png

You guys could still choose with ones you would rather play, as in if you were given the option to live life with one or the other, which would you pick?

There's no comparing them, there is just which one was your fav.

IMO, which I don't think I have stated, I would choose CoD4 over H3. But both are great games, especially live.

Well, at the moment, just because I live with a flatmate I'd have to choose Halo for it's SplitScreen over Live. Infinity Ward messed up bigtime not allowing splitscreen over Live or LAN.

Yep, that's definitely a HUGE drawback to COD, I really wanna play with some of my mates, but it cant happen sad.gif

By Samurai-JM on 16/10/2008
The only problem I've had with CoD4 was the repetitive nature of the ranking system. Sure you get a nice new symbol each prestige, but other than that why bother going through it again and again only to reach a ceiling at level 10? If you could prestige forever at 10th prestige and just redo it then it might be more fun, but personally I got bored lol. It's an amazing game, but I just lost interest. sad.gif

Same thing happened to Halo back when CoD4 came out, but they are really supporting the game and making it better all the time with new maps and gametypes, as well as events within matchmaking every week. Can't wait for these Mythic maps to come out.

I still say I can play them both equally though. If I were stranded on an island, I'd pick Halo just for it's campaign replayability.

Halo is more running and gunning based from what I've seen/played. The easiest way to kill someone is by melee'ing them because it takes quite a few shots to kill someone. This does make it quite fun yet I prefer the tactfulness of CoD.

Halo reminds me of a hyperactive kid who ate too many sweets and CoD4 reminds me of a Buddhist monk.

Melee is the easiest way to kill people on CoD too, it's a one hit kill.

Anyway, I play MLG Halo settings, where it's not Run and Gun, it's all about controlling the map and coordinating fire n shit.

But that only works if you sneak up on them, also keep in mind that in CoD4, most guns kill in 1-3 bullets anyway, because it's realistic like that. In halo it often takes 1/2 of a clip depending on what weapon you are using lol.

By Baconman81 on 16/10/2008
I have both and COD4 is def better.

By Sum-41xx on 04/11/2008
Unfortunately Halo 3(well actually, Halo 2 and 3, considering 1 was actually a great game) is the most over rated game in existence so COD4 obviously is my choice.

By Firelion08 on 04/11/2008
I love both, but CoD4 for me.

By Zooby69 on 14/11/2008
COD4 definatly, the whole pick your own class and perks and such totally kill Halo3.

It even have a Halo3 like gameplay, where you have to pick up weapons and such, you start out with a pissy gun.
