Clan Exchange Program
By His Lordship on 22/10/2008
I want WG to remain at the top of clan innovation.
We've always been pioneers in the clan world.
IRL Meetings, cutting edge recruitment, extravagant forums, rolling attendance, the lecture series, website standards.
And on top of that we can't even begin to count the events we've invented, including the now popular market crash.
Now, we're trying something new.
AN EXCHANGE PROGRAM!
Two clans swap members for two weeks, then swap back... like Wife Swap.
Basically the members swap over to the other clan at the lowest member rank and then they participate normally in the clan's activities like ordinary members of that clan. After two weeks they offer a little feedback on what they enjoyed about the other clan, and perhaps offer a suggestion that could help each clan grow. When they return to their normal clan, they may offer up an idea or two on how to make the clan better, after seeing how the other clan works.
If we use a high ranking member, it would be better. They would be more trusted not to be a nuisance in the other clan and they would have a good knowledge of their current clan so would be able to make a better comparison.
I have already asked Triforce to get involved, and I am looking for another clan to participate. Triforce is looking positive so they will probably be our first clan with which we exchange.
By Cameronm123 on 22/10/2008
Like the idea, but how would you pick who is swapped over and who we would get back?
By His Lordship on 22/10/2008
Well we'd make a post and people would nominate themselves or others. It would probably be Elites+ or even Tertiary+ because Triforce want to send us a COUNCIL member.
By Zlatan83 on 22/10/2008
mmk, looking forward to it thought....
How about spying tbh? They could easily get our information and leak it to others and virse verse
By Ragingwealth on 22/10/2008
This is kinda interesting, but just to make sure we get no spies, is there anything set up to prevent important information theft and avoid possible crashes? We could just make it so that during the exchange period no triforce/WG can attack each other, and make a temp rank for those who join us without access to Level 1+
By NightRawrs on 22/10/2008
Tbe?

Sounds like a good idea, i'd say Elite+
By His Lordship on 22/10/2008
Well its a trusted council member of Triforce... a leader...
And the rank they get is trial member.
Like, both members exchanged start at the lowest possible rank.

Since when did we trust Triforce and like I said, being a trial member in WG gets you alot of info
By Geoff_Bland on 22/10/2008
Only do it with a very trusted clan who we're on good terms with. Or do something with their access so they can only access certain posts while still being a member rank or something.
I love the idea though.
By His Lordship on 22/10/2008
Um, any info a trial member can get... really if someone wanted to spy on us it wouldn't be that hard to get into WG.
By Flame5107 on 22/10/2008
lol this idea sounds very interesting would be quite fun to be apart of another clan for 2 weeks to see how it works

By Samurai-JM on 22/10/2008
YAY clan reality TV!

(send me so I can make them free gfx so we win k?)
By Mager123789 on 22/10/2008
Hmm, i like the idea.
But why don't we try it first with our allies?
By Ragingwealth on 22/10/2008
Everything sounds good then, only one concern though, are we hiding our fixed pk times? It'd be easy for them to hunt us if thats the case :S
By Winddancir on 22/10/2008
Sounds interesting! I'd be willing to go and try it out!
By Zeth007 on 22/10/2008
Scaaaaaaary!
By Ikahigurashi on 22/10/2008

I personally think it would be better to branch away from the allies. If part of this is to get our name out to the clan world, we cant keep on doing things with the same people. And although I know you're saying to try them out first, I think it would be better to show boldness in getting involved with a clan outside of the alliance first.

what is there to spy on o.0
By Pazenon on 22/10/2008
I like the idea. And yeah, we should send someone who's Tertiary+.
By Quikdrawjoe on 22/10/2008
I was going to recommend this long ago but I thought nobody would like it. I approve of this idea though, but we can't send Dale because he's NH.
By Georgio9 on 22/10/2008
Sweet, exchange your old worn out and dull clan for a NEW and SHINY clan for only a small fee of $19.99 for 6 months.
Shipping and handling extra.
By Kero2 on 22/10/2008
lols sounds fun
By Groedius on 22/10/2008
Ill do it
By Aardvark39 on 22/10/2008
Interesting, I spend alot of time with TDM not events or anything like that but I am allowed to idle in thier channel, and it is interesting to watch them and associate with them, big difference from WG's channel, they are really strict on many rules and behaviour etc.. but thats not saying they dont act a bit crazy as us in other channels
sounds like a great idea

LOL
Well, even past Georgio's comment, I like the idea. I wish it was around when I was active, as I would have probably tried it. I've never been in another clan, so would have been fun
To whomever goes over there, hope it works out well
By Havochaha on 22/10/2008
elites+ only thanks again
By Nick on 22/10/2008
I believe this is a good idea to be honest. I mean if a council member of ours, or a teretiary+ goes, then they can get a view of how another clan is worked from the inside, and maybe suggest things to improve WG. Another way it could benefit would be it would give many of us a view of how other clans are coping with problems such as our recent skiller vs. warmonger issues, and also how they are dealing with problems within PvP.
The only problem that I believe could make its appearance with this is, we have to make sure it is a trusted clan, due to our weekly raid times. We wouldn't want these to be leaked to a clan that may want to crash us, along with maybe a war that could show up within the two weeks, that yet again, could allow the fellow clan to crash us on. Basically it is like giving each clan a spy in another clan, so you have to keep this in mind.
Overall, I believe this is a FANTASTIC idea Elias, and I think we should definitely do this. Just make sure to rotate between members if we continue to do this past the first clan. That way everyone gets their turn and everyone can see what it is like in another clan now a days.
By Sithofwookie on 22/10/2008
I like this idea alot. I wish I was active enough to do this lol.
By Troll84 on 23/10/2008
Ooh

Hopefully i can take part in this, I'd love to get alternate perspectives on clans.
By ArSeNaLfAn32 on 23/10/2008
I'll do it.
By Dorcha3377 on 23/10/2008
This is an absolutely awesome idea!
We get to see how other successful clans work from the inside, and hopefully some good ideas will rub off on us.
Make sure and choose people who will share the experience fully!
By Jayson on 23/10/2008
should be good fun to try, im sure alot of people wouldnt mind trying it out
By Tezza Rulz12 on 23/10/2008
Lol what if they person likes the other clan too much and stays for good? ^^
Anyways, good idea, If i were still rs active, I'd definitely nominate myself

Let's let Dale go then@@@
I joke
By Type Z Z Z on 23/10/2008
Hmm this is a little risky if you ask me, if someone goes to a clan, makes alot of friends and feels welcome and satisfied in the clans, the odds are they'll leave WG for the clan.
By David on 23/10/2008
What about passwords and stuff? TS?
I like the idea, and if we do go through with it, I say we change our raid times and passwords to other things then change them back after the whole thing is done. We could even promote that so it makes us look less like spies.
Keep in mind how other might receive this idea. They might interpret it as a way for us to spy on other clans, so promote certain things so that it's obvious we're not trying to sabotage anyone.

A tertiary LEADER would give up WG to be a NEW MEMBER in another clan?
1. People in WG actually like WG... they don't want out.
2. No high ranking member would give it all up to be a new member unless that other clan was absolutely spectacular.
3. They may make friends but where's the risk? That boosts clan relations. They'll still have more friends in WG

I must agree with you there. I doubt that any ranking member would give up their status to start all over again, no matter how good the clan is. As for this idea, I for one think it is a wonderful idea, and I am all for it.
By Dorcha3377 on 23/10/2008
I remember at one time we had clan representatives for other clan forums. It worked out well. This should as well.

I just have to say.
I almost, at one point, gave up my rank in WG, which at the time I think was Mod/Community Leader. Elias would remember the instance in which I'm referring to.
But really, that was when a lot of people were unhappy. We trust that whomever we send over there has loyalty to us, since we love him/her
