President Obama

By Georgio9 on 05/11/2008
Well he won. Not sure what to say because I'm Canadian and I lost my train of thought on the matter about a year ago....

I still can't figure out how it takes 2 years to have an election when we can have one in 3 weeks.

If I move there, do I get my own kangeroo?

I hope I'm wrong... and Osama hasn't been waiting out these past 8 years to make his next move...

It's the Democrats' turns to defend a President that's in charge of a war.

This is going to be interestig indeed.
Congratulations, Obama supporters. Let's hope you've made the right choice. Lives are depending on it.

WTF ELMO DIDNT WIN?

By Samurai-JM on 05/11/2008
Well I guess it's time to FINALLY move in the right direction. I still can't possibly conceive how people would want McCain in the office after everything that we've been through though... wtf is going through all of their minds?

Anyway, WOOT! Better times ahead with Obama. biggrin.gif

Go Democrats!

+1. I think the main reason is because americans, or at least the ones who voted Mccain are scared of the unknown, they'd rather vote for some1 who they have a good idea of what they will do. Rather than a president that they have no idea (although obviously would assume good would come from).
I hope and I believe that Obama will do a good job.

PS
And wtf, how does it take 2 fukin years to have an election, us canadians did it in 3 weeks.

By Eregion2 on 05/11/2008
You're Canadians, we're Americans. Why are you surprised? hash.png

Palin scared the crap out of me, I'm glad Obama won.

No matter who becomes President - Lives are always at stake.

You can't say that simply because Obama won. If McCain had won it wouldn't have been any different.

No President can ever make the entire country safe. It's not possible. Planes will crash, buildings will break, floods will flow, and storms will strike.

That is a part of life. If you are expecting the death toll in the States to go down simply because of Obama, you are expecting far to much of him. Instead judge him on how he fixes our current problems: 2 wars and the worst economy in years, decades even.

Anyhow, Grats to Obama! One idiot for another, that's how we Americans do it!

Ah, no... I'm not denying that lives are always going to be on the line; that's beside the point I was trying to make. Obama won because the majority of this country thinks he can lead us properly -- and I hope they've made the right decision. No sarcasm.

As for making the entire country safe... I understand what you're saying... But you're trying to create a cushion to fall back on if something happens. George Bush received no such cushion and 9/11 wasn't his fault (for you conspiracists: innocent until proven guilty, remember that).

However, I won't oppose everything you've said. I do expect for the death tolls to go down because of Obama. The current problems that have to be fixed... The death toll is a part of them.

I'm not trying to be negative. If Obama can do what is right, it'll affect me too... And I hope he is capable of it.
I'm not going to start whining like a Democrat, that's for sure. hash.png
