I was wondering if anyone can help me out with setting up my Xbox360 Live connection.

I'd actually perfer step-by-step instructions, but I'd still appreciate any advice given.
Note: I'm the kind of person that gets nervous when given vague instructions... So it'd help if you were specific.

I have the device that hooks-up to the back of the Xbox, but that's pretty much all I know about setting up the connection.

if its wireless, i can't really help you.

If your looking into plugging it into your modem,

Start off by turning off your xbox, plug the Ethernet cable into the xbox, then link it up into your modem, once in your mondem, make sure it is securely in, hit the power button, you should be set up.

When it comes to xbox live, create an account, follow the simple steps say your subscribing for silver, it will tell you something along the lines of you have 1 month free gold membership. All xbox's come with unlimted free silver so don't worry. Once your month free gold is up you can either head into your local game shop and buy a years subscription for about £40, or you can just use your credit/debit card on the xbox live marketplace, its approx the same price so its all down to if your lazy or not.

If you haven't made your Windows Live ID account, make sure you make it so you're 18 or older (or you know the parental account). I didn't lie about my age on the internet (zomg) and unfortunately, if you're 17, you still can't download M rated content. Not too big of a deal, I just had to make a new silver account.

I still have an "IP conflict" to look at, but I can still connect to XBOXLive, so it's of low priority for me right now.
