Robbie's probably not going to be here as much 4/6

By RobbieThe1st on 04/03/2008
As typical of me, things seem to change on daily basis, which is why I waited until almost the last minute to post this, but anyway, as far as I know, things are as follows:
I am enrolled in Lake Washington Technical.
As I said before, one of the things that is offered is a high-school academy program.
Now, because I am between 16 and 21, I get free tuition for *any* classes I take, while I am working to complete my high-school diploma. Basically, I take at least one high-school/collage class that I need to take, like Math 104, and I get free tuition for the entire quarter.
Anyway, because this is my first quarter here, I am currently enrolled in Machine Technology(Machining, which is definitely cool)[7:00am-11:50am], and College Strategies(a mandatory course which everyone has to take on their first quarter)[12:00am-12:50am].
Anyway, Monday(4/7), I have to get any books I need for my classes, sometime between 1PM and 3PM.
Then, starting Wednesday(4/9), I start classes - I will probably be getting up at 3:00-3:30am each day, around 4:00am I leave home, getting there at 5:00am or so.
At 6:00-6:30, the Machine Technology teacher gets in and I can go do any stuff possible before class.
Why get up so early? Traffic and transportation - My mom goes to work at that time each day to beat the traffic, and so mom will drop me off on her way to work, then pick me up on her way home.
I figure that between 5:00am and 6:00am I will do any homework I have(along with any time between the end of class and when mom picks me up), and, depending, may be able to leech internet and use my laptop to do stuff online, but I don't know.

Anyway, back on the academic front, COMPASS wise, I took it... and ACED it.
I got over 95 on both the Writing(editing) and Math sections, and got 28(percent I think) in Trig... Yet I had *never* done a trig problem before in my life! I just guessed at them all, using a Logical Guessing process(If theres a lot of a certain number in the answer choices, there is a good chance that the correct answer contains that number). XD

GED wise, I took the Math and Reading portions last Thursday, but don't yet know my scores.

Anyway, I figure this quarter should be fun - Sure, practical math and precise machining may be a lot of work, but if its interesting, who cares?
Plus, the teacher is more or less flexible with regards to various projects, so long as you aren't trying to skimp on work by doing it - Not a problem for me, I figure I will probably end up working harder because of all the complex and wonderful things I will probably want to build.

Ok, so during this next year, I am going to be getting a GED, *and* a high-school diploma(it turns out you can use your GED as equivalent to 1 year of high-school), as well as a whole lot of other stuff.
Starting in the fall, I am going to be getting into a Diesel mechanics course, how
ever one of the requirements is you need a GED. So, before fall, I have to pass the GED.
Ok, thats fine, but what am I saying this for NOW?
Well, as I learned today, during this spring and summer, I am going to be very busy taking some courses, one being a prep course for the GED.
Also, sometime during this whole process, through various courses and loopholes, I am going to be getting a high-school diploma, as its all free - and its better than just a GED.

Now, ok, thats fine, but thats still in the future. why now?
Well, it seems that tomorrow(tuesday), I am going to be taking the last portion of my driver training course, a review part. Some time after that, I am going to have to get my drivers license.
Thats not all, oh no.
Wednesday, I am going to be taking the "compass exam", and am going to have to get up early for it.
Also, during the month of march, I am going to be having to do quite a few other things. I am not quite sure when any of this is going down exactly.

Note that its not like my parents had this long planned out and only now told me - Today my dad went down and talked to the technical institute, and stuff was decided now. I guess thats the downside to being in a family which can change on a dime.

In summary, during this next month, I don't know exactly whats going to happen, aside from the fact that my sleeping schedule is gonna change completely(its hard to get up at like 5am if you go to bed after midnight), and I am not gonna have nearly as much free time. So, basically, I will be on when I can. If anyone needs me for a technical issue, PM me - I will try to check my PM's daily.
other than that, all bets are off.

You've done a vast amount of backstage work for the clan and everyone should recognise it. However, don't let it stop your academic future. Good luck with your tests and assessments and stuff wink.gif
