I'm going to let you guys know something right now.
Cops don't just shoot people. They are not even allowed to draw their sidearm unless their lives or the lives of others are at risk. I highly doubt the dude that got shot was completely innocent.
Remember, there are always two sides to every story.

Witnesses say the man was face down handcuffed on the ground.
Supposedly he "accidentally grabbed the gun instead of the tazer"
Sounds awfully fishy to me

A police contain the right to to use force or a gun if there is a serious threat. If you say "I have a bomb" on a plane, an Air Marshal WILL shoot you. If the guy is stupid enough to convince a police officer this is a serious situation, he deserves to die.
(Video won't load for me, so I'm assuming what happened."

Please tell me why he would shoot an "innocent" man in front of a shitload of witnesses? He obviously had a reason.

Police are seen putting Grant face-down on the ground. Grant appears to struggle. One of the officers kneels on Grant as another officer stands, tugs at his gun, unholsters it and fires a shot into Grant's back.
There have been unconfirmed reports that Mehserle may have mistook his gun for a Taser, but Burris is not swayed. |
All they know so far..

Colin and Glenn, I think you will respond differently after you watch the video. The man they shot was unarmed, handcuffed, on the ground, and another officer was holding him down. At best case it as an accident, and at worst it was blatant homicide. What it probably was though is an officer who was in an altered state of mind, and should not have been on duty that night.

I watched the video.
All I'm saying is that people don't just shoot other people for no reason. ESPECIALLY when it's concerning a police officer.

I agree, there probably was a reason, that reason most likely is that the officer wanted to have a few drinks on new years.

Makes me wonder what he did in the first place to involve the police. Was it an armed robbery, where he could have had a gun. It could of just been an accident too.

For nearly six hours, according to local media, about 60 people addressed the board. |
^ Wow!

Nice of the mother of the victim to be so forgiving like that, telling the public to stop hurling abuse at the police authorities...
