A Leader's Rant

Ok.
I've had it.

I've been asking for event pictures for three months.
Firstly I asked my council to collect me images. Abs for one month, Jenny for another, Snowzak (I think) for another.
At this point we were 3 months behind in the archive. We are now 6 months behind. Eventually Jenny gave me 10-15 pictures... to cover 3 months. Obviously not enough.
And I have been constantly asking WG to take screenshots... do you? No.
You think screenshots magically appear on the clansite.
Well that's just great because I don't have all that many so when intros think we are inactive, we deserve it.

So then I ask Stokenut to collect pictures from clan members and then he informs me only 5 or 6 people even bothered giving him pictures... and they only gave a few. I've been waiting for two weeks now to get those, so I'm assuming he's forgotten.
I instructed him later on to ask members one by one for pictures, because I know, and the council knows, when we post requests as announcements, most of you... yes I'm talking to YOU, just forget about it and hope someone else deals with it.

How many of you even READ our call for screenshots? If you did, why didn't you help me out?

Once again, WG does nothing and expects me to slave away for them
I am really getting sick of this.

I will provide whatever screenshots I have now, and if I miss a few months (perhaps because I was overseas!), and people call us inactive, don't blame me. Our screenshots are a HUGE recruitment tool, but that's not the real reason I'm angry. It's the principle. If I need help, HELP ME. Don't just palm it off and wait for someone else to take action. Don't be fucking lazy.

I work extremely hard and all I asked for was 5 minutes of your time to inspect your computer and upload whatever screenshots you have. Thanks to absolutely NOBODY helping me out, I am going to do it myself, wasting my leadership time, which is limited as is. If someone can fucking help me out now and get me those screenshots, I'll use them. I need:

2007:
September, October, November, December

2008:
January, February

I am half tempted to not do work for WG because really, you need to learn I'm not your fucking slave. You can't rely on me to do every thing without your support. This is pretty pathetic.

And then come the posts that say "Yeah guys you shouldn't be lazy..." sometimes they will use the word "we" instead of "you"... but it's always the same. They never look at themselves. It's every member's fault except the 5 or 6 that gave images to Stokenut, and the new members. I've asked several times, and been bluntly ignored on the forums and the IRC.

Sometimes I have to wonder whether half of you are worth leading.
I'm going offline to cool down.
I'm going to check back in an hour to see if anyone can give me some last minute help by giving me a few fucking screenshots so I can use them to get recruitment going.

Whatever. Fine.
Just ignore me.
Go have a fucking mini since it's obviously more important than assisting your leader's long term agenda.
Or perhaps you could get your fucking priorities straight.

I haven't read it all yet, but it occurs to me you have penalized the clan as a whole instead of just a few.

I personally have only been in this clan for about a week and given 6 different screenshots on 2 different event threads. Im not sure if they were official, but I fucking tried.

Im new here, and im allready doing this, so don't act like your clan is falling out from under you, you just won't lift a finger to go look. If you were to LOOK into event topics you'd SEE the screenshots. I can't post recaps, so I post them there.

EDIT: By the way, they aren't halfassed pictures Either. They are fully fledged, looking-fun, pictures. That's how they should be.
I got my chance to rejoin WG and im not gonna try to save it, ive pushed my limits a few times, but what you don't know is that some of us DO TRY. So some don't, big deal, family members get lazy. You aren't aquitted of that yourself. You are the leader, yes, and you do exert the most effort, yes, but isn't that expected? NO, its NOT expected for you to do everything, but instead of BITCHING like you do everything, why not single out those who DONT do anything and attack them, instead of a clan as a whole.

I take pictures (Personally) of the DKU inside WG And the Few events I attend. My life is up in the air (Im not asking for sympathy) so my event attendance is wayward. But im trying. Why not single out those who aren't trying?

EDIT: I decided to put my whole post here. Maybe it'll show you that some are taking the time and consideration to take these pictures, while enjoying the event and looking back at them and laughing, not, as you say, just palming it off to someone else (Particularly the event holder)

And im sorry if thats not 'official' or if thats not an 'official' event. Like seriousely, come on. An event is an event.

I enjoy attending events, Okay? I enjoy leading them, I enjoy taking pictures, I enjoy making people have some fun.

Hope your event coords hold these attributes. I wouldn't do better by any means, but make sure your event coordinators are actually suited and WANT THE JOB, instead of pawning it off to people who don't want it

How fucking dare you. The whole point of the request was to SAVE me from sifting through 6 months of event recap posts. Don't you EVER dare say I don't lift a finger to look at my clan. If I look at the topics, I'd be spending HOURS of fucking wasted time, which was the whole fucking point of this post.

I ask WG to present me with screenshots to save me time and this HAS been posted publicly several times and requested on the IRC. People Like fucking Eechye don't even look at these fucking topics even though I tell them personally to. I am half tempted just to suspend him for not giving a ****.

Look lordy, you can't say we don't submit screenshots if you don't LOOK. Why not make a forum for screenshots? Not the gallery, or some post in Announcements cause nobody will look. How about something special, something where EVERYONE will see?

And don't give out rewards either, like that point system if you ever were thinking bout giving rewards out for submitting screenshots. Just a tip.

And irregardless if you look or not, that doesn't mean the pics ARENT There. IM sorry i wasnt around for your post about screenshots, but goddam please take my screenshotswith the least bit of a thank you.

You take bites at lordy for him not wanting to go through threads to find event pics when he has been spending most of today re-doing our website while you enjoy the fruits of his labour....

How often is it you would say thanks to Lordy? surely not often enough, I have run a clan before, I possibly know what about 1/100th of the stress lordy goes through to keep Wg in the state it is....

I think for half the time used in this argument it could've been used for sorting and doing something for it.

Archiving takes alot of time to do. Looking at the event recaps, there's pretty much a bit of images there to use but its right up to only end December 2007 and quite a bit there doesn't have screenies. It's good to post recaps with pics as a habit, this way its fun to view and helps in long runs. But perhaps those more screenies could've been left back in the old forum? If we are backdating to 3-6 months?

Sifting takes time and it helps with the recaps given they are dated. Unless you're asking for more and those that aren't posted yet. For a start, maybe just use what's available first rather than hold it for what's not available yet. If its pressing atm and add more eventually.

Would you like just the links or the full pic posted or sent to you directly? Bear in mind that it can take me quite some time to upload anything while on fucking dial up.

You can try using www.yousendit.com. Subscribe to the free account, it allows you to send multiple files and up to 1GB in one shot, for the free account and its safe (corporations use it). Not sure if it proves better than things for dial ups, but in cases for comparison to imageshack, its much quicker in my experience. And you don't have to copy and paste links - that waste alot of time. Only thing is you need to send to an email address.

I have been through the screenies and there arent many that were outstanding. There were screenies with events we had but they were scant.
If we want to show people our activeness and fun side then they need to be shots that are good, showing us haveing a good time.

It's a good pointer though.

Another way around it, which is a little tricky but it should always be honest as is. The updates have had alot of effects all around RS. I can't remember when was it but it should be back to somewhere in November 2007?

The updates have caused alot of shifts to the RS world, intensities of such changes are apparent. It is only natural that activities drop. Ongoing activities are still activities however few or undesirable.

If pictures aren't enough and credited to the latest changes then its only fair to add comments to those months besides letting images speak for themselves. Such as "this is what's going on despite...although...". Cases of downturns aren't and shouldn't be only for one clan. It is already rare enough that any clan have archives in library format to relate past activities in a showcase format. It doesn't have to be gleaming with great images if those were times of hard hits that has nothing to do with clan performances.

It's your call. Just that, no point in presenting something that isn't there or that it had nothing to do with clan performance already trying to do something inadequately available around it already to start with.

More suggestions is the last thing I need.
The only thing suggestions fucking do is tell me to change something or work on something.

I simply cannot provide picture of events, when every single event this clan has is EST based, at which time I am more likely than not working.

Btw, I post any screenshots I take on the event recap.
Then delete the file off my computer.
I haven't taken any for a long time, as for a long time, too much favouritism to EST has been given.
Events which I attend lack numbers.

You have to realise that not everybody on their computer keeps a folder for wg screenshots.
I keep the main ones (anniversary + lvl pics), but nothing normal really stays.
