Your not so friendly neighbourhood Zecc.

By Zecchini on 26/01/2009
Just a quick rant.
But before I get to that.
Hai Im Zecc.
For those who don't know i'm ex WG.
Yadda yadda yadda.
K.

Since when did WG become rank chasers?
No skills sector, emeritus required to war, 80+ combat to join the forums.
What a joke.
What a fucking joke.

Whatever happened to the 3 part key to a successful clan.
Community.
Skills.
Combat.

Success is only measured against the tool you choose to measure it with.
WG used to use numbers, community, friendship, as a measurement of success.
Now it seems having the lowest possible number against your name on a stupid list is of highest priority.

I was contemplating a return.
After seeing the crap I have in the last 10 minutes.
Im glad I got out when I did.

Josh.

Its not how impressive the skills are its the fact that the skilling sector created a good community.

Now with it gone and only warring on everyones mind the community has fallen as we have seen in recent months

The sectors split the WG Family into two halves, the Skillers versus the Fighters. The route was taken to bring WG as one, and focus on both equally. It is entirely possible to have a truely excellent community (which I am proud to say we have), and a good repuation for our fighting skills. Why do one, when you can have all?

You seem to forget the meaning behind the name The Wilderness Guardians. I'll leave you to think about it.

I think it's a crime to judge a clan negatively because it is proud of its current status in the warring world.

Perhaps times have changed...
But from what I remember you only attract the attention and respect of clan hoppers when you succeed in war.
What happens when the wave begins to crash?

WG has had a rollercoaster like history.
Its had its ups and downs.
I'm telling you now it wasn't how successful we HAD been in the wild that kept this clan afloat.
It was the backbone of the community members that held this clan together while everyone went off chasing glory elsewhere.

Years of WG community and tradition is the only reason we are having this conversation now.
Without it.
WG wouldn't have survived.

80+ combat, to combat spammers?
Sounds like your firing a shotgun to kill a cockroach.

Sorry, I haven't got to meet you. Look at my stats and I'm no less of a member than anyone else in WG. I don't get hassled cause my combat percentage is like 25%. I've been in the clan like a year. I love it here. I probably am the least war oriented person around. It may appear that skillers would feel left out, but I go along to wars and yeah I get ko. It gives me alot of room to improve.

WG has changed a good bit since I first joined, but most good organizations change with the times and the people that are current members. That is not always a bad thing. I'm sure when you get 80 to 90 people together in real life groups, you would see the same kind of thing as you see here.

Think about coming back. We still have a great community. All the interesting personalities blended together like a real family. Good luck with whatever you decide.

The 80+ Combat registration was put in place to stop the hundreds of pornography spam posts we were getting on these forums. People used to spam bad links and pornography using bots which registered & validated etc. The new registration requirements stop them. The clan world has changed.

Heya Zecc, long time no see.

People claimed 07 as the glory days. Was that not the days of WG dominating in the wilderness? I admit that it may seem a bit harsh with all the rules and removing the sectors. But without some sense of acomplishment within the clan, we are nothing but a forum filled with gloating members. I have decently seen an uplift in atmosphere since the recent acomplishments by WG, and i can say it seems to be for the better.

Your nh ur opinion dont count lol tongue.gif

Edit: Thats alot of talk if you dont even see how thge new clan is. I've been through each stage of this clan. I know how it has changed and tbh, its not so different. The removal of sectors saved this clan. The privacy on forums saved us from spams.

Hey Josh..you know I have seen it all here.
Things are not as bad as they may seem. The sector plan was tearing us apart. Things are on a much more even keel now.

Happy to hear from you.
