--On January 31st, tomorrow, BJ Penn will challenge Georges St. Pierre for the welterweight title--
-BJ already has the lightweight title, so if beats GSP then he will be the first man in UFC history to hold 2 different weight class titles at the same time, he is already the 2nd man in UFC history to hold 2 different weight class titles at different times(Randy The Natural Couture is the first...). ALSO, if he beats GSP, he will avenge a decision loss to GSP back at UFC 58.
I want BJ to win, however I am not bias to GSP because I like them both. GSP has a great wrestling game, very good striker, and good overall.
I want BJ to win b/c not only will he be making history, but he will be avenging the split decision loss to GSP that GSP should have lost in.
BUT.... at the same time if GSP wins, we could see a GSP and Anderson Silva fight to determine the best pound for pound fighter in the world.... which would be monumental
I am a bit worried though b/c GSP did alot of training for this fight by bringing in fighters(Rashad Evans, light heavyweight champ, for example...) that were the best in particular styles that BJ happens to be really good in, BJJ for example...
My other worry is that BJ's cardio isnt all that ace and if the fight lasts into the 4th and 5th rounds, he will lose unless he gets a lucky superman or KO or something....
So basically IF the fight is 3 rounds or less, BJ will win, and if it lasts longer than 3 rounds GSP will win.
Discuss....
