Coraline will be Amazing

By Eregion2 on 05/02/2009
I'm really excited about this movie, even though it's supposedly for "kids." happy.gif

First, it's based on a story by Neil Gaiman. Second, the movie adaptation is by Henry Selick. Swap Sandman with The Nightmare Before Christmas and you're guaranteed to have quite a show. Third, both the book and movie are unabashedly placed in the horror category, which is strange waters for anything aimed at kids. And fourth, after seeing Wall-E and Bolt in theaters, I'm interested in this new brand of darker, more realistic childhood entertainment. If you ask me it's way past due.

Anyone else planning on seeing it? I'm expecting it'll be one of the best movies of 2009.

nice, i'm definetaly going to check it out. Even though i'm a bigger fan of Studio Ghibli creations, like Princess Mononoke, spirited away, howl's moving castle and so on, those are the best animated movies i have ever seen in my life.

Mmmm, i'm not really a fan of those sorts of movies, i wont be going to the cinema that's for sure.

I thought it looked interesting and really well made, even though I didn't like Nightmare Before Christmas and it looks like the same animation was used in Coraline... Tim Burton is directing it too, isn't he? If I ever see it, It'll have to be on HBO/Starz/Encore/Cinemax/Showtime because I don't think I'll go to the theater to see it.

Studio Ghibli (or rather Hayao Miyazaki in particular) is awesome. happy.gif We own Howl's Moving Castle and Castle in the Sky.

I never saw The Nightmare before Christmas =/ I watched the commercials for Coraline though and doesn't look like something I'd like.

Nah, I'm more of a fan of good movies.

Ouch...that was brutal. Sorry. Haha

But it's not really the type of movie I would see, although I do enjoy many of Tim Burton's films.
