I'm really excited about this movie, even though it's supposedly for "kids."
First, it's based on a story by
Neil Gaiman. Second, the movie adaptation is by
Henry Selick. Swap
Sandman with
The Nightmare Before Christmas and you're guaranteed to have quite a show. Third, both the book and movie are unabashedly placed in the horror category, which is strange waters for anything aimed at kids. And fourth, after seeing Wall-E and Bolt in theaters, I'm interested in this new brand of darker, more realistic childhood entertainment. If you ask me it's way past due.
Anyone else planning on seeing it? I'm expecting it'll be one of the best movies of 2009.
