Its not bad, i'd try and download some fonts i dunno the word "Extreme" just looks a little boring compared to actually being extreme.
I like the lighting around the main character, and the use of splatter brushes (?) is used quite well.
Not bad for a first photoshop user, how did it compare to using Gimp?

Play around with photoshop. I do agree that the border needs a little work. But the way you did it is pretty cool.
