What possessed you to download and install that linux distro? Seriously if you want a linux platform running, install the more common, user friendly distros with drivers available. Ubuntu is a great one, they actually have drivers for pretty much everything now. KDE 4 is also an amazing distro.

Since I can't remember where the main software manager was in Ubuntu and each linux distro is different, my best advice is to just play around with EVERYTHING. Seriously, if you don't have that curiosity and will to solve your own problems, don't get involved with linux at all.

Have ever heard of Google? It's a lifesaver for linux.

Actually i didn't download it, this old laptop was fixed by a lady. She worked for Microsoft and said this is one of the best programs.

Well that's a bit of a pickle. Microsoft is evil. Problem is, it's good from her perspective, which is as an IT worker.

I decided to be nice and google "how to install programs in xandros" for you and this came up. Looks pretty good. It's on the xandrox forums as well so most of your problems with that OS will most likely have solutions that come from here as well.
