Eurotrip Pictures

By His Lordship on 12/03/2008
These should be in the RL Pics topic but there's quite a few of them so I decided to make a separate topic.

I still haven't received all of them but these are a few of them which I managed to grab.
My friends and I still have to meet up for the big exchange.

The Monuments

Throughout the trip I would often get bored.
Since I am eccentric I alleviate my boredom in very special ways.
My particular method is the construction of post-modernist monuments.
The following structures are statements and celebrations of mankind.

This one, I entitle The Road Less Taken
It is an expression of human trial and error.
There is a subtle sense of sadness that the objects evoke.
This may hint, perhaps, at our impossible strive for perfection?

This piece was part of a whole study based on Burger King.
I call it The Consumer's Monolith.
The wallet at the center of the photo is symbolic of money's central value on modern life.
The sunglasses surrounding the article represent our hidden identities.

I name this one The Artist's Torment
Unlike the others there is a human element to this one.
The music represents man's desire to portray the world around himself.
The beer bottles represent the fallibility of the mind.
The green one is juxtaposed violently against the clear one.
This creates a sense of foreboding and is a metaphor for the tortured soul.

-------------

Ok now that the crap is over...

1. Me playing the "Theme from The Godfather" in the streets of Padua, Italy.
As soon as I did this a whole bunch of Italians appeared out of nowhere.
Conclusion: The Godfather theme song is like their call to arms. It causes them to mass and conglomerate in defense of the motherland.

2. Three of my four friends and me on a roller coaster. Obviously the background was edited in, but those faces were genuine excitement/fear/constipation (yeah, I ruined the pic).

I'm the one that looks like an axe murderer in a hardware store.

3. Me and Dan toward the end of a 24 hour plane flight. We were feeling really shitty.
I took sleeping tablets and got woken up for this picture. Ignore the hair. It was angry that day.

PS - Yes that purple shirt in the last picture was a conscious WG purchase.
I have thus far bought 2 shirts that are purple simply based on WG's cape.

Nice Lordy! Lol, nice cape =]

It's Disneyland.
They don't want the kids to fly off their seats.

Lmao at the monuments!! Put simply, they are brilliant.

By Spicy63 on 12/03/2008
I liked the Monuments, it shows that you can make something with meaning out of a lone object with none.

Lol at the Italy Caption.

By Pazenon on 12/03/2008
Nice. I found the part where the Italians gathered around you when you played the Godfather tune pretty funny tongue.gif

I'm not criticizing your choice, it's still the best thing to do at Disneyland -

But this theme park is based on a comic book character (Astérix Park) and has this rollercoaster:

7 loopings or so.

Coaster pic is made of win and awesome.

I've never bought a purple shirt for WG; however, whenever I go mini-golfing (okay, all of like four times in my life...) I've always gotten the purple ball, thinkin WG style.

I was just bullshitting.
They are actually meaningless and stupid.

Well, spicy was correct in a way - With proper subtitling, even the most meaningless of photos can be made to have meaning and depth(or at least appear to well enough to fool some people).

Lol, yeah I know.
In the age of post-modernism it's hard to discriminate.
And even though *I* may think it's rubbish... to a few people it may be real.

in the last monument pic eugene kind of looks like this hash.png
