The Silent Guardians, known as SG, were the non-PvP arm of the Wilderness Guardians on RuneScape 3 from 2013 to 2014.
Overview
The idea of a non-PvP arm was proposed by WG member TS Stormrage in December 2012, prior to the release of OSRS[1]. The idea was well-received, and the clan launched on 15 January 2013, led by Bassism with Stormrage serving as Eventmaster.
While most WG members focused on OSRS, SG members primarily played on RS3 where SG offered events in the way of PvM, Dungeoneering, and other non-PvP activities. The clan was also responsible for maintaining WG's Citadel, which reached tier 5 during SG's lifespan. SG had a simplistic website designed by Mojo, shared forums with WG - and also hosted their own Member of the Month awards along with WG and DG.
After a period of struggling to balance OSRS and RS3 within WG, SG was merged back into WG on 4 May 2014[2]. However, some aspects of SG remained - for example, the former SG ranks of "Guildsman" and variations were incorporated into WG, complementary to the "Guardian" ranks. These remained in use until the forum switch in 2017 - when the clan's RS3 aspect ceased to use the offsite forums and the ranks were removed[3].
