Question: Why do you get involved in this antiPKing business?
AntiPKing was essentially PKing normally, with one major difference. AntiPKers only PK other PKers. The Wilderness Guardians antiPK because one of our beliefs is that there are simply too many PKers in the Wilderness. While we acknowledge that PKing is good, there is simply too much of it and there is also bullying as a result of it. We aim to reduce the number of PKers in the Wilderness for short periods of time whenever we venture into the Wilderness. Keep reading for more information.
It has everything to do with a code of honour. Not everyone agrees with it. However, some people support this code of honour and see antiPKing as more honourable PKing.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:Ok lets be honest here. There's nothing good about the wilderness except the fighting. I'll agree full-heartedly there. Really, there is still that tiny amount of non-PKing I'm trying my best to preserve. I think its great that people are willing to go out there and do stuff. Mage arena, axe hut, ice giants, greater demons, clues, dragons, agility, mining sites, rune spawns. I've seen it with my own two eyes. There are less and less people going out to do those things. I'm sorry I can't explain it, but for some reason I want more of them. I just really like it when people cultivate the wilderness. I guess antiPKers are essentially trying to bring that back.
Please don't see it as antiPKers against PKers. antiPKing is a misleading name. We don't hate the act of killing players, we do it ourselves. We hate the act of people killing non-PKers, violently. Anyway, we're helping you, sort of. If antiPKers can encourage more non-PKers to come into the wilderness, you've got more people to kill. I'm hoping you don't think that we ALWAYS want non-PKers to live. Kill them, but not too much.
There needs to be a balance, and this is why I love guthix. We antiPKers want it so that there are lots of non-PKers using the wild, but not so many that it is completely safe for them. The danger element is important for the economy and the fun of the game... In essence, antiPKers believe there is simply too much of that danger element.
We do what we're against similar to why cops shoot at armed criminals. I know its contradictory, that we do what we're against, but it just feels like the best way to combat it. Not going into the wilderness certainly won't do anything, and asking people to give non-PKers a chance makes us look like hippies.
PKing is not all bad. It just happens way too much, so much, that people aren't going into the wilderness for anything other than PKing. And yes, there isn't much else, but there still should be more people than there currently are.
Well, I'd like to sum up with my best definition of antiPKing so far:
-------------------AntiPKing is an important constituent of mainstream PKing. The name is misleading when you consider the irony in that trying to remove PKing to make the wilderness safer, you must PK. In fact, antiPKers recognise this, and a more accurate description is antiRPKing. antiRPKing is abbreviated to antiPKing and further to aPKing for convenience sake.
So, in recognising that antiPKing is PKing nonetheless, how could it possibly make the wilderness safer?
Having thought about this for a while, it doesn't. It SHIFTS the element of safety. It makes PKers less safe, and non-PKers more safe. AntiPKers do this because they feel the need to protect those who are weak, for the sake of morals. In a world that encourages violence, antiPKing seeks to act as a shield, to give non-violence a voice.
The act of antiPKing is quite simple. It is the killing of other people with skulls. The skull above the head identifies a person as a PKer, and as an antiPKer as well. AntiPKing clans may fight eachother and not complain. After all, antiPKers are still PKers. However, in leaving those without skulls alone, and attacking skulls, the antiPKer removes the threat of dying from the wilderness, the antiPKers, being themselves, no threat to non-PKers.
The main argument AGAINST antiPKing is that it simply has no purpose. Many will argue that if you are not willing to take the risk, stay out of the wilderness.
The antiPKer essentially antiPKs for three reasons.
1. A sense of honour. The antiPKers believe that it is unfair to kill a person who has no chance of survival if fought against. It really boils down to opinion. The antiPKer feels he is being fair to decline a fight against a defenseless person. Others believe they are doing justice. The mindset of the individual plays a large role in determining whether they have antiPKing or PKing preferences. In not harming non-PKers, antiPKers are encouraging more non-PKers to enter the Wilderness and take risks, as it is obvious to see that not enough people are willing.
In summary, the antiPKer will question, "If a non-PKer has no intention of harm, why do you exert harm upon him?". It would be the belief that the fights should be kept between fighters, and only occassionaly, a non-PKer would get killed. It is believed that it simply isn't right to see a white dot and expect to choose fight or flight. IT IS ALL ABOUT SELECTIVE FIGHTING
2. Bother. The vast majority of people in the Wilderness are PKers anyway. Non-PKers are the minority. It simply isn't worth the effort to chase a nonPKer with little or no loot, when there are far bigger fish to fry.
3. Vengeance. Many antiPKers antiPK because they attach personal loss with PKing. These people, while there are not many of them, become upset when what is theirs is stolen from them without their intention. By not electing to fight, they are showing that they have no intention of risking their items. They associate PKers with scammers. As bad as this viewpoint sounds, we must respect it, since obviously these people bring their emotions to the game. So, when they themselves PK, they do not PK non-PKers, because they recall the pain of being PKed themselves. On the other hand, there are some who will remember the pain and will decide to pass it onto another non-PKer in order to make up for the death previously. These people are not antiPKers.
AntiPKing boils down to varying tastes of honour. Some find it quite appropriate to PK anyone, and see the wilderness as a place of danger, and that danger is accepted upon entry. Others do not like murdering weak people, and associate it with the murder of innocence.
It is to be admitted that antiPKing holds a minority, and will forever. However, all it is, is a type of PKing with different values of honour. This minority requests your respects for their viewpoints. While you may not agree, please understand that each person is individual, and his or her decision to antiPK is based on their context. The name antiPKing is misleading. Remember, antiPKing most often refers to antiRPKing. This minorty of players remain true to their values, and do not force you to accept their views. In return, they ask that you understand that their viewpoints are just as valid as the ordinary PKer. It all boils down to preference and context.
Question: How Do I Join?
Simply click "Join the Wildguard" on the menu on the left, and fill out the small question form. An email should be sent to you shortly telling you whether you have been accepted or declined. If you do not receive an email, talk to His Lordship over Runescape, and something will be arranged
Question: How can my clan make an alliance with yours?
Simply go to the clan relations page and fill out the short form. An email will be sent to you shortly.
Question: Can I be in two clans at once?
Well, it really depends on which clans they are. Most of the time if you're in a skills clan and don't want to leave you may be in both. On some rare occasions you may be accepted into WG if you are in another antiPKing clan.
Question: How is loot distributed among the clan?
The items a PKer leaves behind goes to the person that made the kill. That person has every right to keep the items for himself, however we as a clan of friends will almost always distribute the loot with our follow clan mates because we recognise that one man alone could not have made the kill.
Question: Is dueling and bounty hunting violating aPKing?
It sure is. Its even encouraged, because it adds flavor to the game. Dueling is different from PKing because both people involved in the fight CHOOSE to fight, and agree on conditions. Bounty hunting is fine by us too, because stake are placed on people for a reason, and some people, although they are not PKers, deserve to die. Anyway. most people who are hunted ARE PKers.
Question: What happens to clan members who PK miners and trainers?
We let them stay in the clan and consult them. We find out why they do it, and we try and show them why we don't like it. If they refuse to change we still let them stay, getting them used to the antiPKing style. If they still refuse to change after a period of time, they will be removed from the clan memberlist.
Question: Is there some form of compensation for those people who are killed in the Wilderness?
Well, it depends on the situation. If the clan comes across a bigger clan than itself and many members die, there is no compensation. If the raid is particularly successful and a single member dies, the clan is usually generous enough to share its earnings with the fallen. If a clan member kills another clan member, the victim receives full compensation and the backstabber will be dealt with by the leadership.
Question: Why haven't I received a reply to my application?
His Lordship is in charge of the applications. He receives approximately 15 to 20 applications daily, and he simply does not have the time to type up responses to ones that don't make it. If you haven't received a response, it is because you have not been accepted into the clan. The two main reasons for this are firstly, not meeting the requirements, and secondly, having not written adequate responses in the application. Positions in WG are in high demand. It is likely that your application was not competitive enough.
Or, perhaps you were let in, but His Lordship has not had the time to process your application. We recommend that you wait 1 week before moving on.
Question: Is this clan limited to only Runescape members?
No. We accept anyone who makes the requirements AND who has a good attitude and fills out our form in a way that shows they really WANT to be in this clan.
Question: Why should I join the Wilderness Guardians and not another clan?
- Firstly, our clan provides a greater challenge for its members, because our Wilderness combat is based on PKer slaying. This proves to be very difficult, because PKers are generally much more skilled at combat

MUCH MORE! We are open to suggestions from members. - Fourth, we are very active, with over six weekly events, and high attendance levels. We are among the most active clans in Runescape
- Fifth, this clan is regarded as one of the friendliest clans in Runescape, not just by our members, but by everyone. It is the strongest point of the clan. This clan has arguably THE most friendly atmosphere that can be felt online.
- You'll never feel alone. There are always plenty of people online, happy to talk to you and offer you help.
- Being antiPKers does not restrict our fun. We admit to being PKers, however, we don't PK miners, explorers, or trainers. I mean, what have they done to us? We antiPK not only because its morally right for us, but because PKers are much better sport, and they drop more. I can't tell you how rewarding it is to stop people from creating chaos for other people. To save a life... its the most gratifying experience the game can give.
- The members are more important than the clan. Whats the point in playing a game to please the clan? The objective of a clan is to reawrd its members. We always bear that in mind. Thats why we don't ask for donations, and we don't ask for part of the loot. The members give nothing to the clan except their experiences.
- Finally, we're a clan that sets out to achieve. As well as having fun and creating a sense of total enjoyment, we have long term goals. We plan to eradicate the Wilderness of bullying, and encourage fair combat. We are trying to reduce scamming, and we are trying to look out for and fix any economic problems in Runescape. We're working hard against hacking, and hoping to make the world of Runescape a better place. We've got visions for the future. Help us accomplish our dream of making the game a land of equal opportunity for all.
This is everyone's clan. We'd love to see you join us and share in the good times, and see us through the challenges.
A message to active PKers, if you decide to join, it is expected that you stop PKing, with the exception of antiPKing.Question: How does His Lordship consider applications for entry?
Every day, His Lordship receives about 10 applications. There is no fixed number on how many will get in. It depends on the quality and quantity of the application. His Lordship mainly looks for a high degree of maturity, which this clan is famous for. Any applications which are too short, he deletes without reading. To be safe, write at least 200 words as to why you want to join. Second, after short applications are deleted, he deletes anyone who doesn't make the requirements. After this, he deletes anyone who did not agree to the terms of entry, by not ticking the box. Only after this does he read the applications. Any applications which convey a negative attitude or one of carelessness or selfishness, he deletes. Whoever remains are those people who go on to become members of our clan.
Every council member has the ability to do applications, however they are mostly done by His Lordship
