Skilling
- 📝 This article is a stub. You can help the Wilderness Guardians Wiki by expanding it.
Skilling is the training of a RuneScape player's non-combat-related skills.
For members of PvP-orientated clans, there are a number of reasons to train non-combat skills. Having a higher total/overall level permits access to skill total worlds on PK trips, where there is often increased activity in the Wilderness. Skilling also unlocks quest and achievement diary rewards which benefit PvP: for example, the Wilderness diary allows members to redirect the Wilderness obelisks, and upon completion of Desert Treasure 2 members gain access to the Ring of Shadows (a good and reasonably-cheap ring to use in PvP). Skilling can also serve as a moneymaking method for members to buy PvP equipment, or to unlock other aspects of the game such as PvM.
Training skills with a clan is often more productive and enjoyable than training alone, and the Wilderness Guardians hosts numerous skilling events and competitions to help members level their non-combat skills.

The Skill Olympics was not held in 2010 due to WG taking part in the Jagex Cup, and there were no subsequent plans to revive the competition.
Operation Blue Haze
- Main article: Operation Purple Haze
Operation Blue Haze was a skilling programme for WG's Skills Sector.
Skills Academy
The Skill Academy was the follow up to OBH. It worked in a similar fashion in that it had a dedicated section of the forums, for which every member had a topic in which they could post screenshots of levels achieved. The programme was restarted on 2 February 2008 and re-worked as a race, in which members competed to gain the most levels per month. Winners would receive an underbanner for use in their forum signature.[1]
