Not to be confused with Sectors.

Hydro and Pyro refers to a structural change to the Wilderness Guardians in 2004, wherein the clan was divided into two groups: Hydro and Pyro.

In 2004 during the S7 days[1], the decision to divide WG members into two separate groups was made by His Lordship, due to the clan becoming too large for one person to manage alone (around the 300-member mark), and the Council not yet existing. The groups had their own leadership - Flame Reece was known to be a Hydro leader. The two groups created were called "Hydro" and "Pyro", with an additional two ("Aero" and "Geo") planned - though this stage was never reached. There were no definitive requirements for the groups, and new clan members were automatically placed into either group after their application had been accepted. There were plans for Hydro and Pyro to compete against each other in inter-clan events, and to earn points for recruitment.

Hydro and Pyro were described in WG's history as "another brilliant Lordship scheme that never worked", and they were abolished some time before September 2004.[2] There were numerous reasons for their failure: there was little management from the group leaders, meaning that His Lordship had to manage the groups as well as his general clan duties - resulting in an even greater workload; the opposite of what he had hoped to achieve with Hydro and Pyro. As well as this, many clan members were unhappy with the group they were placed in - resulting in conflicts and drama between members.[3]
