PineappleTom, usually just Tom, is the current Leader of WG on RS3.
Before WG
PineappleTom started his friendship with RuneScape over fifteen years ago, back in August 2004. On top of many other differences back then was his name. He was known to his friends as Rodney – an alias that he hid under in the Medal of Honor world. Very few people know the origin of this name, but it became PineappleTom some time in 2009 or 2010. Tom’s highlight of his early career in Runescape was his attendance at a JMod drop party where he received a Santa Hat. Oh how he treasured that hat, until it hit 700k and he sold it like a bullet to complete his dragon armour set. He looked glorious in that outfit. Time passed, levels were gained and Tom became more of a skiller, eventually repurchasing his Santa Hat.
The Wilderness was an area that Tom avoided for many years – his friend in real life had betrayed him once beyond the border and that was enough of a fright, it was ruled out of Tom’s interest. Time passed, bridges were mended, and Tom began to trust that friend again as they both entered into the world of PKing clans together. There were a few low-level clans that he joined at first, however Tom’s first real taste of PKing was with a clan called the Assassins of Shadows. The Assassins of Shadows (or AS) were a strict clan with many rules on activity, gear requirements and general code of conduct. They operated through an IRC channel and an off-site forum. Tom quickly learned about PVP through many battles and PK trips. It was during his time in AS that Tom became good friends with Ubg_FcBruges who later introduced him to WG in October 2009.
WG
Tom was naïve to the Wilderness Guardians when he first joined: he did not know about their vibrant history nor their culture, but he did notice the magic when he joined. It was October 2009. Tom was quick to take comfort in the social side of the clan – the hide and seek events, the giant games of tag, the riddles etc. Although the dates are murky, Tom soon found himself as an Eventmaster, being on the creative team and hosting many social activities with a focus on community and fun. This role was retired and re-hired over the years but over time he was promoted to an Advisor.
The clan underwent all sorts of changes through this period. DarkScape came and went. Old School RuneScape arrived. WG evolved into two separate branches – although both fly the same umbrella. Tom was promoted to Leader of RS3 (which became solely social) and the journey continues to this day.
