Assassins of Shadow (AS) was a clan founded in 2007, and an exodus of the Wilderness Guardians.
History

AS was an Honour clan, founded by ex-WG member Ubg-fcbruges and comprised largely of WG members. The earliest archives of AS's forums show that the clan appears to have started around 10 July 2007.[1] The reasons for the split from WG are unknown - however no serious hostilities occurred, and there is no mention of AS within WG's written history.
AS was a considerably successful clan and held several events over the course of its lifetime: wars and PK trips, PvM events such as masses for the King Black Dragon and God Wars Dungeon, and various community/fun events.[2] In December 2007, AS opened a junior clan, AS Juniors.[3]
AS closed on 29 October 2008, after approximately 15 months, for reasons unknown. The clan ceased to host official wars and events, but the members were expected to continue as friends.[4]
Trivia
- AS's motto, "We are the Shadow of the Wilderness", bore structural similarity to WG's motto at the time, "We are the Shield of the Innocent".
- Like its ancestor WG, AS had a separate website and forum. The website - created in Adobe Flash - bore strong similarity to that of WG's popular Flash website but on a much simpler scale. Both websites shared features such as an indoor setting, a bookshelf, a lectern, scrolls to display written information, and a selection of orchestral and instrumental background music.[5]
