This report begins with an apology. I am sorry that the report for May 2005 has been finally published more than half way into June.
May was a very interesting time for the clan, and luckily, it ended on a high note, ad every report has mentioned. It seems the lesser times come during the middle of the month, and everything is resolved by the time the month ends. We are now stronger than ever, and we are blessed with happiness for now.
The name of the Wilderness Guardians is now up there with all the bigger names in Runescape. The Unbreakables, Echo of Silence, Dead of Arrival... and we're making incredible progress as a clan.
The biggest phenomenon of the month has definitely been the rise of the Federation. You probably don't realise how big a milestone this is. AntiPKers everywhere will soon be flocking into one common place... sort of like a holy land... the very heart of antiPKing. The Federation is the purest gathering of antiPKers on the face of this Earth, and WG has put itself inside it, with I, your humble leader, serving as the representative.
Our memberlist has jumped by over 100 people in the last 3 weeks, 80 of them coming from the last 2 weeks. This clan has a bright future. However, we must take caution. If we grow to such a height as to be reckoned with, we shall attract some people who should not be here. PKers, scammers, hackers, the bag name clans and their spies, to name a few. And our morals will be so vast, we won't be able to satisfy everyone's moral views.
With such a great power, we feel the need to remain as a family, more than ever before. Recall the small speech I wrote one night, begging you for co-operation. Of all things that this clan lives off, love is the greatest.
With the addition of the mentor system, we have been able to show that love better than ever before. Rentention rates of new members are at an all time high; they are being more active than those before them, fights are at rock bottom levels, and people can understand that this clan bears real emotions, past the shallowness of the game. We see past the pixels, and find the humans. It is friendship without meeting. And that is a beautiful thing.
May we never forget that love that we receive here, and may we never cease to give our love in return.
2. Maturity (Wildflame110)The word brings shudders to senior clan members and confusion to our junior members because frankly, it has always been the one thing that's held WG from being a near-perfect family. However, I'm here to tell you that this month was an absolute cracker in regards to achieving a greater overall level of maturity and thus a greater level of understanding and focus.
* Talking on raids has been down.
* Inappropriate posts (spamming/flaming) has been kept to a minimum, though many new members still need to learn that if their contribution isn't really a contribution to the topic, then posting is not required.
* Punctuality - the war was an ideal example. Everyone bar a few extras rocked up well on time, half an hour beforehand. Though raids don't show such a supreme commitment, it is not required and so I declare our punctuality well improved.
In-clan disputes have been minimal, with only the SS chat causing some friction amongst the more conservative users of that chatroom. Big problem? Fixed.
3. Events (His Lordship)Now, here's a section of the report I'm very very pleased to write about. Events are a major success. I can be very proud of WG here.
Our raids are going exceptionally well, in particular. Whip kills, clashes with other clans, to find WG come out on top, ever-increasing loots, more sharing and less greed. I mean, we had 315 options in May. Thats simply fantastic. The clan members are all coming to the raid not because of the need to, but for sheer enjoyment, which a great sign for the leadership, who are considering creating a 5th raid, for p2p worlds in the UK.
The grand event of the month, was of course, the war against the Unbreakables. While they still stand by the belief (most of them) that we cheated, we can stand proud and say we were honest fighters. Terakaern should be congratulated on his marvellous accomplishments in regard to this war. meticulous planning on his part ensured that the victory was ours. No war has been so successful. In the war we showed exactly how strong we can be. some numbers suggest up to 100 people attended the war, though only 80 actually went onto the forums when asked. I would imagine that it was less than 100 people. Still, an amazing turnout, quite like the fantastic turnouts at all our raids, where you can EXPECT at least 20 people, and often fill several pages of friends list. Each raid is getting a recap written on it now. Its just become common practice.
On top of all this, our non-wilderness events have continued to push on. We COULD have more, but I think with all those trawlers, CLAN QUEST, Dance party, monster killing, congo lines, and far more, we've got a nice little sample of events outside the wilderness.
We're also getting a healthy distribution of raid leaders. Granting leadership to people is an act of trust in them, and it really makes them feel welcome. So thanks for that.
4. Changes and Ideas (Wildflame110)The greatest new development has been the mentoring system suggested and implemented by Terakaern. So far the response has been nothing but positive, and we expect great results from it in future. We are also looking forward to our requirement update on August 1st to 90 combat, so make sure you all get training!
Additionally, the Descendent Guardians, our junior clan, is starting to take shape, with leadership positions having been offered and certain selected people have been pre-accepted into this new clan. Its going to be huge. Thousands, yes, thousands of people are looking forward to the release of the descendant guardians. At least 200 members are expected to come in 2 weeks.
5. New Members and Advertising (His Lordship)Well, that's clan history for you. 100 new members over 3 weeks. That is just insane. We've never had this much attention before. Of course, we have also enrolled ourselves in the major Runescape toplists. We're also maintaining a steady rank on these topsites, so keep it up. Its excellent advertising.
Now, we have managed to do this WITHOUT mass recruiting, and our challenge is to make every new member feel welcome. With the new mentor system by Terakaern, this is more possible than before. Terakaern has really proven himself to be the best choice of council member by this clan, and he deserves huge recognition for not only the stuff he announces, but the behind-the-scenes work he does. And I don't need to mention Palidore. We ALL know he's working himself to death with this clan., and Anincent, as quiet as she is, she works hard to make this clan function. We are blessed with a wonderful council who are caring for the little people. They are doing it out of pure love for the clan. There is no other reward than the satisfaction, knowing the new members are going to be happy.
Bandwidth. It is chewing through my wallet like there is no tomorrow. I don't mind at all, as this is a sign of our popularity. We ran out of bandwidth, and I ordered 1000mb more, and it ran out the day after! That is crazy! Major reworks to the clan site have been done as a result. I plan to change the host, when I'm free, so that this doesn't become a problem in the future.
6. Clan Happiness (Wildflame110)Need I say anything? We beat TU to a pulp and so are riding on a high, even getting cocky somewhat. People aren't really fighting each other, and most people who've left have not left because of a failing in WG, but a change in heart or in circumstances. Few are leaving, and many are joining. Lordy still gets pissed at me 🥷 but no other personal enemies have developed.
7. Leadership and the Council (Palidore)The council has been working pretty hard, but the only problem were having, is that the council is drifting out in a way..I went inactive for a while, lordy is getting inactive, anincent on now and then, and terakaern..well he's just new, and still full of energy, just give it another month lol.
A small growing problem is that people in the council keep leaving..which I was thinking about doing, but I dont want the council to crash, with already another council member gone.
To do list:
* As always, leadership is trying to improve raids* Promote more members
* Recognize the hard working members
* Settle conflict between other members
* Get a replacement council member
* Organise the junior clan
Although this isnt really a huge list as previous times, thats all that we can really do at the moment.
8. Diplomacy (Palidore)I would like to say, from the bottom of my heart, that I am so proud of you EVERYONE for gaining this huge victory over the unbreakables. This is the first major full-out war we've fought, and even against one of the top clans out there in runescape. This is definately a huge milestone in wildguard history, and although it was a little controversial at first, its all settled now, and we have the victory.
The amount of war request we are getting is slowly increasing with the more wars we fight. We have got a war request for echo of silence, and the komodo dragons. Im really not sure if we will war either, and when, but we'll happily keep you updated.
Sometime this month, we are having a steel war with fear, just for fun of course! You can visit the topic in clan events.
We have gotten a new, yet old allience back with the scorpions! After they went into a deep silence for a long time, they have awoken, and are back in action. We proudly are renewing the allience, and just as before, we will proudly fight along side the scorpions when we raid together.
The federation allience is dying! Please, everyone visit the site, register, and just visit once in a while. The link: http://s11.invisionfree.com/The_Federation/index.php?
You need to realise how huge this is!
We've done well this month. Following on from the win against KOD Jr, we've now beaten TU, a clan in the top 25. It was no fluke either, we finished with over 200 options remaining, which is a considerable margin of victory. They can claim we cheated all they like, we won that one fair and square! As for using tactics, TU have given us credit for that, so our tactical nouse in the wilderness and particularly during wars has improved. Raids are steadily improving too. We've become more disciplined and we've had considerable success - though having cleaned out the wilderness we have an unlucky habit of running into a top 20 clan after a long time raiding. There is still talking on the raids, but hopefully this will reduce as we see the full effects of the mentor system
We've also had a steady stream of new members, some with exceptional skills. We have several 90+ rangers, and a few new teleblockers, as well as solid melee players. Definetely increasing our strength, and remember, the more high levels we have, the more that will join, so keep on training!
10. Anti-PKing (Anincent)Our performance in the war between the Wilderness Guardians and The Unbreakables shows us our true potential in the wilderness. In comparison to some of the previous wars we’ve had, I’d say that we as a clan have improved a lot. This means that our effectiveness in the wilderness has increased dramatically.
The number of innocents dying is quite low. However, a few people are still attacking innocents. This is mainly the new members and most of the occasions are mistakes. It has been noticed that when one person attacks a person in the wilderness, other people on the raid will follow suit by attacking also, even before checking whether the person has a skull or not. This is an important issue that I had to address.
The number of PKers dying at each of our raids is fairly satisfying, with a few outstanding cases. Several members of WG have been using their initiative and setting up unofficial raids. This is a good sign of enthusiasm within the clan, and is proof that we are making more of a mark on the wilderness.
Our alliance with the Federation has strengthened our values and caused us to become better known. The Descendant Guardians will be introduced soon, so the power of the effects on the wilderness of our ethics will be made obvious to a wider array of people.
Also, a new definition of antiPKing is out. It has been included in the Wilderness thesis for those who are interested.
11. Clan Production (Anincent)Clan production in the last month has been rather busy. Many tips, hints and such are being shared by clan members to help with the training of certain skills. It’s good to see that many of us have goals, and are making use of the forums to try to achieve them. We are able to help each other with our needs, so independently, our clan can survive. The main skill that we need more of now is still smithing, as always. Smithing levels are hard enough to get as it is. The requirement of level 99 to be able to make everything that we use makes it almost impossible to achieve.
The Clan Highscores have not been updated as often as they should, probably because those that are able to edit it have been a little preoccupied. (*Whistles innocently.* =) ) There seem to be many people everyday getting their skills high enough to get onto the high scores; I’m proud of you all.
The marketplace is being utilized as it should, but not by very many people. It is quite handy, so be sure to check it out next time you want to buy or sell something, or just anytime to try to snag some good bargains.
12. Forum Cleanliness (Palidore)The spam has gotten a little overboard, which is because of lots of the new members to the wildguard, who dont know the rules. So please, if your a new member, even if you do not think you are breaking any rules, please read the post in the new member tutorial forum, just to be safe. It would really make the mods and leaders life easier if you do so.
Some interclan fighting has been going on sadly enough, and we cant seem to stop it. Weather it's about a leader of a raid, a raid itself, spreading rumors, spam and flaming in the guest forums, its all happening. Please, no fighting or argueing at all with leaders! If they say stop, please stop, if they say not to do something at future raids, dont do it, please. We are all clanmates here, practically family in a way, all playing a simple game that we enjoy. When people in here scam, flame, or spam, it just causes trouble, and makes runescape unenjoyable.
Just this month, only one week ago, we got a an amount of people on the forums that totally and completely blew the old record out of the water! Thanks everyone for using the forums, and being active on it, now lets see if we can beat the record (81) again!

14. Other Details (Anincent)Congratulations, to Anthonysc, for being the Member of the Month of June 2005.
The Death List has been used rather frequently in the last month. It’s good to see that people feel passionately about getting wrongs, such as PKers and scammers, set right.
Also, the clan bank is in a spot of trouble right now, so do be wary, as it will be coming back into action soon. You can use the clan bank to sell excess items that you may have, or buy emergency supplies.
Over the past month if May, many New Members have been promoted to Member status. Good job on proving yourselves, and I hope you continue to do well.
The Mentorship Program began last month. We are still yet to see the results of this incredible scheme, as something such as this does take a lot time and effort.
15. Ratings (Terakaern)Council Rating - We're undermanned at the moment, and a few of us have had things on, personally I've had exams, so we're a little slow. We're trying though, and everything is getting done, as well as war's arranged. 6/10
Comparison rating. Ranking is up to mid to high-20s following our victory over TU.
From last month - we've certainly become more powerful, but lets not get lazy. There are new members constantly coming in, and we're getting plenty of high levelled players. Lets keep on pushing up the ranks some more!
