Clan bank
The clan bank is a RuneScape account operated by the staff of the Wilderness Guardians. Its purpose is to hold donations from clan members to be used for events such as drop parties. At present, only the Old School RuneScape side of the clan makes use of a clan bank account, and the RuneScape 3 side does not.
History
A clan bank account is known to have existed as early as 2004[1], and was particularly useful for providing clan members with items for PvP and skilling (such as food and armour) prior to the release of the Grand Exchange.[2]
The earliest known named account had the display name Valthorr, and was known to have been operated by Valdremia, Dorcha3377, and Xena1168 in 2007. The bank would loan a set of rune armour to members in need prior to wars, and a maximum of 3 loans per 2 months were permitted. Members could not loan money, and donations were non-refundable - nonetheless members were very generous in donating to the bank. It also provided funding for events such as drop parties and Secret Santa.[3]
With the updates to free trade on 10 December 2007, the bank was liquidated and all items were dropped in a drop party. The value was over 20,000,000 coins, and a rare Easter Egg was donated by Mathsnerd18.[4] His Lordship retained possession of the disused account.
