The Synergy vs Death Legions (Syn vs DL) was a RuneScape 2 clan war which took place on 9 April 2005. Syn and DL were two rival clans who organised a war with allies permitted. Syn's allies included other ARPK-based clans including the Wilderness Guardians, while DL's allies included PK clans. The battle quickly gained the attention of other clans in the area, and spread throughout much of the deep Wilderness and maxing out the game server ("world") to its limit of 2,000 players. After several hours of fighting, the ARPK alliance managed to clear DL and the other PK clans, though DL attempted to return and claim a win for themselves afterwards.[1]

Background
Allies of both sides were permitted, and His Lordship immediately began preparing WG for war to support Syn.[2][3] There was some confusion regarding the date as attempts were made to postpone by a week[4], but the war is believed to have been held on 9 April 2005.[5] Syn's allies present were WG, The Sabres, SD, and Kentai Shadow; and their opponents were DL, The Mighty Red Dragons, SCUM, Zeonic Forces, and possibly others (Echo of Silence appears in one screenshot).
The Battle
Syn and allies claimed victory over DL after several hours of fighting, having cleared DL from the battlefield with over 120 members remaining. DL allegedly returned to the battlefield afterwards to try and claim a victory of their own.
Aftermath
Surprisingly, this war was not mentioned in any of WG's historical accounts, despite extensive preparation[6] and battle plans[7], including the cancelling of the entire weekend's PK trips.[8] According to His Lordship and WG members' accounts, the war was extremely chaotic and unleasant - with Syn members backstabbing, ZF and Damage Incorporated crashing, and members of WG leaving as a direct result. His Lordship considered the war a "win by default", and urged the clan to move on from the event swiftly.[9] However, the WG members present were nonetheless given an attendance award in the clan Hall of Fame.
Around late 2005/early 2006, DL merged with Chivalry of Legends to form Chivalry Legions[10] - a successful clan which lasted for several more years, and closed in 2013.
