Cabinet of the Wilderness Guardians

Appointed by His Lordship
Formation 2017
First holder(s) PineappleTom

The Leader of the clan oversees the running of the whole clan. Since 2017 this role has been split into OSRS Leader, currently Ghost Sabre and Mini Horse; and RS3 Leader, PineappleTom. Prior to this the rank was held by a single person - His Lordship served as leader for most of WG's history.

Old School RuneScape

On OSRS, WG is lead by Mini Horse and Ghost Sabre. They set the overall direction of the clan and ensures that the clan has the appropriate resources to operate. This includes monitoring staff activity and appointing new staff where necessary, checking recruitment channels and maintaining communication channels such as Discord, Forums and Clan Chat. As outlined in the rules of the clan, they have final decision making power. For example, if a member is breaking the clan rules they will make a decision whether to warn, kick or ban them. In general, the OSRS leader ensures the clan is operating effectively.

RuneScape 3

On RS3, the role of Leader is a little more relaxed. This is due to the relaxed social nature of the clan. PineappleTom currently operates as Leader. He ensures that the clan has sufficient staff to operate and resolves disputes where they arise. He also monitors the RS3 Discord channels.

Historical

His Lordship

6 December 2003 - 2014

Starting from the clan's establishment on 3 December 2003 and for the vast majority of WG's history, His Lordship was the primary leader of WG. He lead the clan through many different phases of RuneScape, taking the clan first from RuneScape Classic to RuneScape 2 and in later years transitioning the clan to OSRS whilst maintaing an RS3 division. During the later years of his leadership he often suffered long bouts of inactivity, effectively leaving the rest of the cabinet and larger staff team to run the clan. His term as leader is considered to have ended around 2014, when he took the rank of Founder.

Myst01

30 December 2004 - 2 January 2005

Myst01 was the first leader of WG other than His Lordship. They were appointed when His Lordship - at the suggestion of Noricle - stepped down in attempt to rectify the situation with The Revolution on 30 December 2004[1]. This was considerably unsuccessful, and His Lordship resumed leadership on 2 January 2005. Myst posted their resignation from WG on 10 January 2005, citing a number of factors including immaturity and "certain people" being let into WG - it is unclear who they are reffering to[2]. Myst would go on to join TR[3], but it is unknown if they returned to WG following TR's closure.

Xena1168

September/October 2006

Xena1168 was one of three council members appointed to the Council in January of 2006, alongside Kingdanielii and Geohood. Some time around September/October of 2006[4] His Lordship was forced to step down from leadership due to sudden real life issues. He initially appointed Xena as a replacement - however, she was also under pressure with her own life, and returned the position shortly afterwards.

Tmal34 and Twizlers300

September/October 2006 - 1 December 2006

Tmal34 and Twizlers300 were given the position of leadership following Xena1168's resignation. They are credited with WG's success as a powerhouse throughout the later months of 2006, which included training regimes such as Operation Purple Haze, and raising the clan's requirements to 105+ combat. Their terms came to an end with D-Day on 1 December 2006, and His Lordship returned to leadership afterwards.

Brent147

4 May 2014 - 21 September 2014

As His Lordship's activity began to diminish in 2014, he appointed Brent147 as leader on 4 May 2014[5], along with the merger of Silent Guardians back into WG. Brent led the clan for most of 2014 - however his own real life issues resulted in him taking the role of an Advisor and eventually stepping down entirely on 21 September 2014[6].

Descendant Guardians

The Descendant Guardians was the junior clan of WG and existed three separate times. Each time, a separate Leader was appointed to run the clan. Their role was to recruit lower level members who did not have the requirements to join the main clan then train them up until they could transition to WG. Having two separate leaders and staff teams sometimes lead to rivalries whereby DG members would refuse to train up to join WG.

The first iteration of DG began with Gibble00 as the leader, and Dsgames2003, Mochaho456, Sir Jereth, and His Lordship served as secondary leaders. Blazer903 succeded Gibble as leader in mid-November 2005, and InundationI joined him as co-leader. The last leader of DG1 was Oak Island - before he and several members left to form the exodus Oak Island Pirates. DG2's leadership was not well-recorded, though Kaioken757 and Stokenut are known to have served as council members. Vio was the leader of DG3 for its entire duration.

Silent Guardians

When the Silent Guardians was created a Leader rank was created to oversee the clan. Bassism was leader of SG for the majority of its existence and ensured that a wide variety of non-PvP events were offered within RS3. He also ensured that the citadel was well maintained and resolved any disputes arising on IRC, forums or in the Clan Chat.

Others

In late 2015, DarkScape was created and Mojo self-appointed himself as Leader of the DarkScape unit due to the inactivity of His Lordship. Mojo oversaw a massive recruitment spree on DS, resulting in WG being the largest clan for most of the existence of DS. He oversaw the running of Warbands events, monitored recruitment and ensured TeamSpeak and Clan Chat was operating effectively. DS was shut down in 2016 and Mojo returned to focus on his role as an Advisor for the RS3 and OSRS sections of WG.
